Hi guys,

I am buying a preban PWA
rifle in an m16 configuration from someone in Arizona <thanks for
the hookup>.

i plan on removing the preban lower and replacing it with a new stag
lower, and then i will make the upper ban compliant by removing the
bayo lug and perma-attaching a muzzle brake. I will then sell the rifle
as CT compliant.

so my question is ... what muzzle brake/comp is the cheapest ... i dont need the best.

thanks,

-k

Just go to JoJo's and ask for "JoJo's CT-legal brake."

Jojo's FTW.

I had them thread/pin/weld their comp on my M&P15 a couple weeks back.  Then shortly after I had them change out an RRA to theirs and pin/weld it.  They do great work and they are very cool guys to deal with.

JoJo's is my 2nd option at this point.   its $100 for the brake and pin/weld job.

i think i am going to go with a Cav Comp

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1464/Product/AR_15_CAV_COMP

its already drilled for a pin and includes the pin.

do you guys think i would have ANY problems at all with this?

I thought it had to be permanent (welded).

This is a crappy pic I took right when I picked mine up from Jojo's.

You can pin it, as long as you weld over the pin, to prevent removal.

Bad ju-ju. You just posted your intention to purchase and manufacture firearms for resale (presumably w/o propper licensure) for the world to see.

just sell the upper on here or CTguntalk.com  that's what i do with the preban upers i don't need

and doesn't the Mfg this only apply if your making a lot?  this should be ok, now if he was doing one a week then there might be an issue

Yeah, I don't think there is any bad "ju-ju" here.

He is buying a preban rifle, and WHILE the upper it is still ON the preban he is modifying it. THEN and only then is he going to remove it from the preban to put the now "neutered" upper on his new post-ban Stag lower for the sale of a rifle he already owned, not manufactured. Right, kmanoni???

The upper is not a rifle, the lower is and since he already owns it, he is not manufacturing anything, just selling it

It applies if you are making with the intention to resell- whether be it 1 or 10000000. If you make it for yourself, that's one thing. Making/buying it to sell to somebody else is something else altogether.

In the post, he implies that he is buying a new lower for this purpose. Maybe he wrote his post poorly (I have been guilty of that myself), BUT the way he wrote it raises eye balls.
