I'm looking for suggestions of any good gunsmiths in CT. I'm considering having a 1911 bobtailed in the near future, so I'm just trying to get an idea of whats out there. By the way, if anyone has had this done - about what did you pay for it? |
| Can't beat JoJo's Gun Works in Southington. Great people. Great talent. Period. |

Thanks for JoJos, that was the only one I really know of. I just wanted to call a couple to get a price range. Quoted: how many times is this going to be asked on here... dunno, link me to a thread and I'll go away. searched "CT Gunsmith" and found exactly one thread and that dealt with building an AR upper. Considering this deals with pistols, I'd consider it substantially different. I wouldn't take my Dodge Truck to an mechanic that specializes in imports and expect quality work. |

Gettin' back to serious...I've been dealing with Jodie at JOJO's for at least the past 15 years..
Great work...Good and Honest advice......You won't go wrong.... One of the advantages of establishing a relationship with a good local smith is you never have to send it out. I've had Jodie do small fixes while I waited... You can't beat that kind of service. |

For 1911 or AR work .... Jojo's is the place to go.... other than that I have not heard much besides sending it out of state. I've had work on S&W M&P done there, and complete refinish and action work on a Dan Wesson revolver. Not especially fast on turnaround time, but who wants to use a gunsmith that isn't busy? Their reputation is on 1911 and AR work, as well as a LOT of PD work. Good people. |
