| I am considering purchasing property in Massachusettes, one of the points in my consideration is the weapons laws. Specifically I would like to know the law concerning "Assault Weapons," I have read the statutes but I am still unclear as Mass. Law is very difficult to follow. It would appear that you must be licensed to possess an assault weapon (Class A or B, something like that)? Is this correct. And also it seems that if you are on your own property, residence, business that you can possess "Large Capacity Weapon," "Sawn off shotgun", etc. Doesn't seem right but that is how I read it. Can anyone clarify for me? |
| Mass pre ban is same as fed 94 pre ban. Your best bet is to contact goal and a good firearms lawyer here in mass. The bringing in of AWB guns is sticky. The way I read it. you have to prove it was bought, assembled and registered prior to 1994. There is aso the ATGs ban on guns. Even more complicated. SAWED OF SHOTGUNS are a no no no matter what. Even from what I heard, the guys with the short barrel permits for the ARs and such does not include sawed off shotgun. Yes the laws a very grey. unless you are a criminal, then and only then will the criminalcommystate of mass protect you! |
