Anyone know of a range in eastern or central CT, that allows rifles and handguns. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. I don't want to join a club really, just shoot. Thanks.

I like going to High Rock in Naugatuck. Cheap, bunch of good guys and you can set your own  targets to whatever distances you want.

Only problem is they only allow you to shoot 25 yards pistol, and 100 for rifle. Makes it tough to do any closer, practical shooting.

I like the owner of Blue Trail. They (David and his wife) do lots for youth shooting and other organized shooting.
I honestly don't know how they make a go of it when you consider the long streaches of nasty winter weather when the place is a gost town.
If you intend to shoot more than a handfull of times a year it is going to be cheeper to join a club .

True, but the place does fill the need for a public gun range. BTW they also have a 200 yd range.

I highly recommend the DEP range in Glastonbury.  It's a 100 yard range that allows both pistols and handguns.  It's only open Saturday and Sunday (10 AM to 2 PM), and you have to make reservations during the weekday.

Sorry, no skeet shooting at the DEP range.  You can shoot shotguns using shot or slugs though.

Page four and five of the PDF below has a couple of pictures of the range and more info.
