| Can someone here help me find a handgun safety course? I need one to obtain my CCW. I need it to be cheap, but anywhere in the state. I have looked and looked, but maybe others will know where. I live in Machias Maine, which is about 2 hours northeast of bangor, but I am willing to travel for this. |

| Have you checked with the Police Dept on obtaining the permit yet? The Chief might have some suggestions for you. I thought at one time they were accepting a letter from an Academy certified firearms instructor stating that you had demonstrated proper firearm handling. Not sure if that is acceptable now or not. |

| There is a guy in Topsham Maine.Hes a certified NRA firearms instructor for these courses.You can also contact Reeds in Auburn M.E.Grat shop good people.He also used to offer this course.Brunswick PD use to have a flyer for the Topsham guy.I'd assume Topsham police would know as well. |
I used the guy in Topsham for my first ME permit...Bath PD has his name on a flyer as well. Overall good, nothing to complain about....well...except for possibly driving from Machias!!
