Are there any gun shows coming up in the CT, NY, NJ, MA, even PA area?

Next "Big E" gunshow isn't until October 8&9

There's a show in Concord, NH, Labor Day weekend.  I know it's a haul from CT, but the no sales tax pays for some of your gas.

Is the Big E gun show a real gun show like you can buy stuff? Or is it a SHOW, it only displays items, so one can admire and dream of owning one of those (of what ever) one day.

The Concord NH gun show is a good take. I usually attend it on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, I won't be making it this year. It's probably 350 tables or so.

Big E gun shows have gone WAY DOWN in the past few years. Last one they advertised 600+ tables and I did a fairly accurate count of ~300! Lots of "regular dealers" who always were there, just weren't there at all. Since they don't allow ammo sales in any of the buildings (Big E paranoia), only 1 dealer is there . . . obnoxious Steve from NY. No competition and his less than truthful advertising (.223 labeled as what our military uses, both untrue and the ammo is junk), doesn't lead to the best prices or choices.

Unless you live nearby, the drive + $5 parking fee makes this an UNATTRACTIVE venue, not worth the cost in the door. $8 admission + $5 parking = $13 in the door . . . don't add the cost of driving there or you'll puke at what it cost you to "maybe save money"!!

If you are close to Marlboro, MA that location is likely to be an attractive show (expect maybe 500 tables if the dealers show up) in September (24&25) and it has free parking. Ammo is sold in the building, but obnoxious Steve is the only significant ammo dealer at these shows.

You should use the search mechanism or scan the topics in this forum, as the general topic has been discussed regularly here.

By MGLs, unless you are a MA Resident with LTC (FID for lo-cap long arms only), legally NOBODY is supposed to sell you any guns (long guns, allowed by Fed law from FFL in any state in a face-to-face transaction, but prohibited by MGLs), ammo, mags, or reloading components. Reality is that nobody has ever asked to see any ID at any gun shows when selling me ammo, mags, or reloading components.

Lars at www.umlautarms.com has a list of upcoming shows that he is doing, which should help you a bit.  He's a great guy too, if you just want to order stuff from him.  Tell him I sent you too.  I'm his Maine advertising junky!  He set me up my .50 Beowulf.
