SA? As in Springfield Armory? I haven't heard anything about their 1911s being MA-Compliant. Last update of "the list" shows no Springfield Armory guns on it. Do you know something the rest of us don't? I hope so as I'd love to get one of the SA "Mil-Spec" 1911s. |

Sorry, but Springfield Armory isn't on the "List". See the following URL for the latest "List" (12/03): www.state.ma.us/eops/publications/approved_roster.pdf In addition, it would have to meet the AG's Regs which would be extremely unlikely for a genuine 1911 clone! It's my understanding that most if not all other mfrs (that aren't already on the "List") have "kissed off" our asshole AG and the dumbass law and decided not to bother getting blessed for sales in MA. Your only hope is to either: - Move out of PRM, or - Find someone who moved into MA with one and wants to sell it privately (between MA residents only). Good luck, you're going to need it! |
Well, im not sure if you guys read this weeks want ad, there it was....SA 1911, race gun $1375.00. Made the call, got the dough, then, got the call to plow an inch and a half of snow. Was going to meet the guy that night at his club, I called him and told him I couldnt make it, and mabye this weekend,etc, said some folks were coming out to look, long story longer, they wound up getting into a bid, he got 1525 for the 1911. Glad I didnt make, I wouldnt of been able to come home.

Loaded bureau model. Novak low mount night sights. Les Baer match bbl & bushing. 1-pc McCormick recoil rod & spring. Videcki adj trigger, McCormick beavertail & main spring housing, armory coat finish. 6 Wilson 8-round mags in fact box w/manual. In perf cond. Not many lk this 1 in MA. $1375/bo; sigh.... super nice guy though, shooting with him on Wednesday in Dorchester.....hopefully only at the range... |

If your LTC will allow you to, CCW and make sure that you don't have both arms full! Over the years I've heard stories about shooters exiting the club and being mugged for their guns! Since Boston doesn't issue many unrestricted LTCs (they disallow CCW usually), it is a "rich environment" to steal guns without much fear of getting shot. |

I would love to live in VT or NH, but the job sitution is too tight, and I don;t ant to commute 2-3 hours each way every day.
