AIRSOFT! You have to be kidding! Airsoft are considered firearms in Australia? That is just plain idiotic!! Airsoft weapons are made of plastic and low grade metal which shoot rubber pellets and are used in skirmish-style games similar to paintball. The extremely realistic weapons are legal in many parts of the world however in most of Australia, including NSW, they are classified as firearms and are banned. |

Just to demonstrate the screwy firearms laws in other countries, take a look at the video below, Joerg is making an air launcher for arrows, he's using a small aluminum tube to deliver the air, its very small, about the right size to shoot a BB, but under German law it must be blocked to prevent anyone from making a firearm out of the small aluminum tube, the explanation starts at about 2:15 in the video. |
