So I went to the ER this morning after dropping my daughter off at school. I had super severe pain in my abdomen form the time i woke up till about an hour or so ago. Come to find out... Ive got a fucking kidney stone

I pound water and gatorade all damn day, how the fuck to i get that..?

Did a CAT scan, doctor says its a small one. If a small one causes enough pain that I wanna rip out my kidney and stomp on it... Id hate to know what kind of pain a big one causes...

Had a friend that had one, he told me it was the most pain he had ever felt in his life.

I had them two weeks ago. Nerves and dehydration and dark cola, gives them to me. Drink lots of fluid if you can stand acidic drinks they help break them down. My Doc prescribed a muscle relaxer this time and it seemed to help. Good luck!

So I guess, since orange juice is high in acidic content I could take some of that and may help break it up?

I had 2 stones (5mm & 7mm) addressed medically about 3 years ago.  The procedure wasn't bad.  At the time I was going through coffee, tea and tums like there was no tomorrow.  According to the Doctor, all of which are known to cause stones.

Don't care to ride that rodeo again but haven't cut back on the tea and coffee

Doctor told me to drink lots of fluids.. hell i refill my water bottle at least 5 times a day at work and have reduced my pop intake to maybe once a week. Maybe its just a freak thing.

OKC has some of the hardest water around...after going through several water heaters and such we finally installed a water softener and its been a 100% better.

I knew a guy that had some big kidney stones...that was a horror story I wont repeat here....follow your docs orders.

They will bring you to the floor.  I've had two.  I have had 20% of my skin torn off in a motorcycle wreck, a tractor ran over my left leg and pelvis, broke the leg, appendicitis and none of that can compare, even close, to a kidney stone.  If you are pissing in a strainer to collect it, good.  Have it analyzed and find out what kind it is and then you will have a much better idea on what is causing them.  Good hydration always helps.

I think I've had about eight all together, all but one passed on their own. Largest was about 7.5mm, they went in and broke that one up, trip home afterwards was the longest ride of my life. I have a medicine bottle in the bathroom abinet with my "collection". My stones were caused by high uric acid, I take alipurinol for it, they also said I have a touch of Gout.  I feel for ya man, hope it passes soon.

I think nerves help cause them. Several people I know have had them including me this year. Hang in there glad they are not bad yet and believe me I hope for the best for you. The Cyclobenzaprine this year has helped more than I thought it would the muscle relaxer seemed to help speed the pass from the kidney to the bladder. Some times when I have had small ones less 1.5mm they are not to bad just mainly the urge. But the one a couple weeks ago was about 4mm. It passed but burned for a week later. Good luck!

is there any indicator of when the stones decide to come on out? Besides pain... My tenders are kinda tender and hurt and feels like its slowly radiating up my back to my kidney area. Any advise there?
