I heard from a very reliable source that they didn't just "go out of business".  I was told that they were shut down by the BATFE.  Can anyone confirm this or provide additional details?

If anyone has a copy of their FFL #, you can check here if it is still valid:

I heard the same thing.  Supposedly had something to do with dealings they had in the very beginning of their operation.  Not sure if it is true or not.  Regardless, they screwed a ton of people!

There are so many federal rules and regulations that everyone here has broken at least one at some point in time.
We are all criminals. Whether or not you are charged depends on whether they are looking for a reason to hang you because you pissed somebody off or not.

True but lying is generally frowned upon, even when there aren't rules.

The TL:DR facts are that the VP (Shields) told the CEO (Davis) that ATF told VP that the ATF had approved an off-site transfer of firearms, and so CEO did an off-site transfer.  CEO found out that ATF never actually told VP this (unless they are lying) before the ATF questioned him about it.  When ATF questioned CEO about it, CEO got "nervous" and lied, and then admitted his lie.

There were other infractions too.

So an average guy got nervous while being interrogated by a federal agent and lied. The President didn't lie about Benghazi and AG Holder didn't lie about Fast and Furious so they get to keep their jobs....

I bought quite a few parts through them while they were still in operations and have a few opinions.  Erik seemed nice enough and was always quick to reply to my emails.  I stopped by their place a few times and picked up barrels, uppers, lowers, etc.  I will say that they weren't particularly well run or professional, which is probably what got them in hot water with BATF.  I'm not the least bit surprised by what I read above and have a hard time judging them too harshly on those accusations/facts.  I think they got in over their head and extended themselves financially.  Unfortunately, it ended with alot of people getting screwed out of their money.  I have a pretty decent setup at my home for spray on finishing as well as parkerizing and bluing.  I have also thought about getting a used mill and lathe to do some other work.  What holding me up is the FFL.  Part of me wants to do it on the side, but then I read things like this and it makes me slowly back away.  I may just stay a strict hobbyist!

Stupid Loki...*kicks them in the hypothetical nards* .....all I needed was my lower to finish my rifle but nOooOoooOo...they had to screw everything and everyone.  Maybe it's strictly a girl thing but I want my damn rifle to match and now that will never happen which means I will stay in a mood of perpetual pissed off.

Sell what you have at   the gun show, buy a matched set, like umbrella group, etc

I have considered that.  I just had this upper made for me and I kind of like it.  It has a pink Hogue free float forend and the nickle boron bcg...I dunno, I guess I could always take the pink Hogue forend off and put something else on and keep the nickle Fail Zero bcg.

a bird (upper) in the hand is way better than a pie in the sky replacemnet .
and what's so special about a Loki lower?
there's nothing special about the  lower itself, it's just a standard forged lower, like everyone elses.
their roll mark?
its not very good looking (although its better than a spider)
does the upper have their name on it? (boo)
if it doesn't why wouldn't any lower "match"?

My A4gery is an Essential Arms lower with a PSA barreled upper. They matched up. They TD pins have no issues.

meh.........that's why you always buy mated upper/lowers so this situation doesn't occur.

That's a good point...it doesn't say Loki on the upper that I know of.  They suck anyways...I'm just going to stick it on my Spikes lower and call it done.

Sure sounds like Loki messed up in a transfer.

BUT, I see the ATF as the root cause of the company having their facility shuttered and assets siezed. The ATF is an infringment upon the 2nd amendment!

I have heard the same thing. It looks like Loki and Tombstone tactical has gone out of business. I know that both are owned by Eric Davis and Brian smith.

I really hate to hear how many people have lost there money.

I'm surprised he's still walking upright...there are a lot of people out there who would love to take a piece of him.  Instead of spending money going to Shot Show he should be paying back all the people he screwed over.

That's why you build the stuff yourself instead of paying some fly by night to build it for you.
There are very few gunsmiths that I trust because of what my dad has told me. There is a lot of expertise here that is free for the asking.
Gun expertise that is.
