So we went to the range today and I got to shoot my new guns plus some of my others. We went to H&H, there was about a thirty minute wait (they're using little pager discs to let you know when a lane opens up) but it wasn't too bad. They were pretty much out of any "tactical" rifle type guns. I saw one RRA consignment rifle, looked like a plain Jane basic model with no flash hider or even threads for.......$2000. I saw some guy buying two rifles of some kind in S&W boxes that looked to be M&P's but I don't know if they were 5.56 or .22.
We shot several of our guns including a S&W M&P 22, a S&W M&P 15-22, an HK MP5 SD .22, a Walther P22, a Henry Big Boy .45LC, a Colt 6920LE, a Kimber Solo CDP, a Bond Arms 357mag derringer, an STI Elektra .45acp, a Glock 21 .45acp and, finally, a S&W 629 V-Comp .44 mag. My new Glock 21 shot awesome, no malfs. My new Walther P22 shot awesome. This little gun is weird in that it's so small but has almost zero recoil even for a .22. It shoots extremely well and very fun. My new Bond Arms 357 derringer is very cool. As assumed it has quite the kick for a 357 mag derringer. Fun to shoot but not very often lol. My new S&W PC 629 V-Comp...holy cow. This gun is frickin' awesome! The trigger is amazing, I've never shot anything with a trigger this good. The accuracy is amazing also, although it's shooting low, gonna have to adjust sights. As you can imagine the recoil and muzzle flash is pretty significant. The compensator does a great job at stopping muzzle flip. The first time I shot it everyone around us stopped to see what I was shooting. Then my bff took her turn and by that time we had a crowd gathering to see what was shaking the place lol. Several people from other bays came to see what was going on. There was a guy beside us that really liked the gun but didn't want any part of shooting it. I love this gun! I can definitely see how this gun could drop a bear or a moose. I think everyone around us was glad when we ran out of .44mag ammo...they were all developing a flinch and stopped shooting while we were. Next guns on the "to shoot" list are the 6.5 Grendel and .50 Beowulf but I want to wait till I can shoot them at a longer range than H&H offers. Hey Sumo...time to shoot! |

Sounds like fun. Did you ever get your OKC Gun Club application sent in? 600+ acres and no waiting! 25 to 500+ yds and lots in between! No, we didn't get it done in time. Not sure when the next "acceptance" period is. Same for Tri City... I emailed them and thought I got put on their "waiting list" over a year ago. Haven't heard a thing.
