Are DPMS lowers any good?  Initially I was going to put a Loki lower on my Loki Grendel but it's so high and I found a complete DPMS lower with Magpul stock and a RRA two stage trigger for $360 so it seems like a good deal. What do you guys think?

I got 2 builds on DPMS lowers, not had a problem yet and they are a few years old.

Sounds like a decent price with the 2 stage trigger.  I'm considering that trigger for my SBR build.  Love to hear a range report once you get it!

I told him I'd take it. The only bad thing is the grip and Magpul stock are green so I'll have to swap them at some point but at least it will be a dedicated lower for the Grendel for the time being.

The fit with the Loki lower will probably be tighter helping with accuracy but there shouldn't be a problem with a DPMS lower.  I built my 6.8 on a Loki stripped receiver set that I picked up from a group buy on another site.  I have been pretty happy with my Loki lowers so far.

I'm sure someday I'll put the Loki lower on it but this will work for now.

I got a heck of a deal on the receivers at the time after building a few I probably wont ever buy a factory rifle.  I can't see there being any problems with a DPMS lower a friend of mine bought a factory rifle a couple of years ago and as far as I know he has no complaints.  Are you looking for a stripped or finished lower.

I was looking for a complete lower with an upgraded trigger of some kind. This dpms is just about perfect with the exception of the OD green stock and grip which I'll try to swap with someone for black. The RRA NM 2 stage trigger isn't a super great trigger but it's much better than stock from what I've read.  Considering this is going on my Grendel I wanted something with a good trigger and this will work until a Loki lower is in the budget. I pick it up later this week.

If anyone has a black Magpul CTR stock and grip and is interested in swapping for OD green let me know.

I've no troubles with them, or any other dpms part for that matter.

Harsh Firearms in Norman does some good Cerakote work and they have started doing hydro dip patterns as well

Hmm....my Grendel would look awesome in pink digital camo. Plus it would help me sneak up on the pink panther. Except this lower is a temp until a matching Loki is in budget so no fancy paint. Maybe once I get the Loki lower I'll use the dpms lower for a lightweight carbine for outside the safe access.  The bad thing about tricking my Colt out like I did is that I just can't leave $5k+ worth a gun outside the safe for home defense. A lightweight inexpensive carbine would be a great alternative...plain Jane with a light and a red dot.

Unfortunately I'm seriously gimped up at the moment and until I get in to see the new doc any kind of shooting is impossible
