It's been a decade since I did this last but I got roped into helping coach a girls' soccer team.
I just left their first practice and their first game is next week.
Two practices to get them ready with about half of them having never played the game before.
If I stay with them, I can already tell this gimped up old fat man is gonna lose some weight, and the remaining hair I don't lose will turn gray.
But those 10 yo kids are giving their best effort and that is the neatest thing about it.

Good luck. I am coaching a 5U T-ball team, so I feel your pain.

The poor children

Almost as sad as Seansworth's Dan-induced predicament

We were running new drills for the kids last night. We told them to run around, outside of the drill area, so the next set could go.
We told them numerous times and they still broke up and slow down the drill by running through the drill area.
I finally got them running the drills smoothly and in order, then one of them would run through the drill area breaking up a drill.

Afterwards the head coach and parents were talking about how good the girls were doing.
I had 8 yo boys that were far better in performing drills once showed than these girls are.
It is a new venture for me for sure.
As far as coaching a T-ball team with 5 and 6 yo, that would be fun.
I had a great time running U-6 soccer camps with as many as 100 kids showing up.
Believe me, they were hard to get going but in some ways almost easier than these girls have been so far.
I'm not the head coach, only helping them getting the team started.
Hopefully I'll get them going in the right direction.
