SHHHHH.... don't tell anyone! Too late. Even now, Rat is probably scrawling that information up on some restroom wall. If not, patriciacudd definitely is!
ETA You need to get a Sig 220 in 45 ACP to go along with 226 in 9mm. You'll be surprised at how much fun that 220 is. I pretty much put up my 1911 and my Glock 21 after I started shooting the 220. |

check out a 1911, the pistol the 45auto was designed for Brother L, I like that long first DA pull then the shorter SA pulls on the Sig 220. I will say it takes getting used to but it still not hard if you've pulled the trigger on a DA revolver enough times. I'm not selling the 1911 short, but the Sig 220 does have a lot going for it. |

Ok, I'm looking at picking up a few copies of this book and mailing them out for autographs. I know that j_new wants one, as well as the other new recruiter in my office. Chuckles1911 and Fister are down for a copy as well. That puts the total at 4. Anyone else want a copy? I can just pick them up from B&N or Amazon, and mail the whole batch out to Sweeney. |

Very cool book. I might be in for a book, what are we looking at for a signed copy?
Higgy, the P220 is nice but there is no comparison for a 1911....................not even a Glock. yep, I have a Glock but the wife has a Kimber Eclipse and I have a Dan Wesson 2010 Valor so I guess I am a 1911 person when it comes to a semi-auto. |

| Opposed to some peoples idea I have had a 1911 in one form or another for most of my life since I was 18 on. In fact, my brother that some of you have met that moved back here owns one pistol at the moment and it is a 1911. Yesterday me, my bro, and another guy headed out for an early morning shoot. Lets say there was three pistols represented a Colt, my DW Valor, and a G27. Guess which 2 were the favorites, and yeah I think the G27 owner is becoming a 1911 addict. |

http://www.amazon.com/1911-First-Years-Patrick-Sweeney/dp/1440211159/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1290819381&sr=1-1 This is cheaper than getting them from B&N. I just put two of them in a box with a $20 to cover return shipping and mailed them to Sweeney. He mailed them back second day. So...we can either get them all together and mail them at once, or we can just IM out the address and let you guys ship them yourselves. Probably be easier to let you guys all mail your own, that way I'm not sitting around trying to figure out shipping on X number of books, plus return shipping, totaling it all up between everyone, and then sending you all a price. |

It was a Remington Rand that my dad bought with my money at the Village Gun Shop (Bill Vick if any of you are real old). Dad took it to Shockey for an accuracy treatment. I sold it at age 18 because I was a dumb ass. The one 1911 I have left and have had for over 35 years is a Series 70 Colt worked over by Armand Swenson. It's not that much fun to shoot for me anymore. I've put untold number of rounds down the tube over the years. Probably more than any other gun I currently own. I still like the Sig 220 over the Glock 21, and the 1911 best of all. But I'll carry the Sig and leave the 1911 at home. I just like the first DA pull on the Sig handguns. One 45 that I should have and never did pick up but have shot, is the Ruger P90. A buddy got one that was a Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department commemorative when he worked there. It was an accurate gun for me and him both. He still has it and will probably keep it. I had the hots for one but ended up with the Glock 21 instead, then the Sig 220. |
