Anybody know any decent gunsmiths in the OKC area? Doing a Saiga rifle conversion, and need to do the drill and tap for the bullet guide. Never tapped before, and i've heard it's pretty easy, but I'm kind of a hands on learner.

Best old world gunsmiths in the city are Roy and Larry at R&S Guns in Moore on Broadway. LIttle shop next to the barber shop. They have forgotten more about gunsmithing than most will ever learn in a lifetime. When I can't fix it, and most of the time I can, R&S gets a visit from me. They've worked on my Broomhandle Mauser, my Tariq and several other projects. They gold plate, weld cast parts, resleeve, blue, you name it. And they are always inexpensive. I would put them up with any gunsmiths in the state. Steve

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that if I decide for sure i'd rather have a professional do it. Still up in the air about trying it myself.

Steve Baldwin is in Jones and is a top notch rifle smith / machinist.  I don't know if he does Saiga conversion stuff but he'd be worth calling.

Tony Rumore over at TROMIX is great when it comes to the Saiga stuff. He's located in Broken Arrow though.

I have done a couple myself. It is pretty easy if you have a drill press.

I don't. If I did, I think I could figure it out.. but I don't want to buy a drill press just to do it.

If you live north in OKC, give me a holler. You can use mine.
