I don't think it ever turned into a shoot. The thread died right after the guy in the pink tutu showed up. I'm 0 for 2 at Dripping Springs attendance, but I'd try harder to make one there this time. I'm 1 for 1 on Appleseed shoots though. Somebody convince me to pay to show up and shoot, that seems to motivate me. |

People gotta want take a shot at anybody that would wear a pink tutu to the range.

range rules Last time I was out shooting they wont let you shoot 55gr or less ( me 52gr ) pass 300yd , I go for 500yd why not But what you say TBGeez, I'm glad I can shoot at OKC Gun Club. They don't allow 22 center fires on the silhouette range but you can shoot them on the High Power Range. Do they make 224 bullets in 168 or 175 gr flavors? 
V, I'll bring my M1A and let you shoot that next time we get together. Swatrock will tell you it's pretty damn accurate at 200. It's good for hitting the rams at 500 meters on a regular basis with iron sights if you can shoot that well.
I did shoot a 189 out of 200 with 8x last time I shot a slow fire 600 yd match! But that was 5 or 6 orthpedic operations ago with more than a few years added on. |

He said they were popping them by the dozens at 700 to 800 yards with the Garands. Stacking them deep. He once told me shooting them up close had a tendency to pucker your arse. He had nightmares for years when I was a little kid from Korea and even worse ones from Viet Nam. My uncle who was one of the Chosun Frozen killed his best friend who was creeping up on him for some reason. They had been killing (and getting killed by) Chinese sneaking up on them in the dark. He was a head case all of his life. PTSD ain't a new thing. So what you say is gospel as far as I'm concerned Chuck. Shoot 'em at longer distances. |

If youse guys are going to abandon the hallowed and time-honored tradition of the Turnpike Shoot at Dripping Springs, I'll go where the OKC guys can convince Dan to go. When I go shooting I always like to have one guy around that pisses off more people than I do and one guy that runs slower than I do. Dan, I think if I'm shooting where you are, you might cover both those qualities for me, and I can just be my normal self. |

Just a reminder that you MUST have a hunting license to shoot at Dripping Springs. That or be really good at hiding in the background scrounging for brass.Or have two master BSers buzzing in the Game Ranger's ear. We're so good at it, he actually drug out his M14 Winchester and showed us.
