Here is a pic taken this morning.  We have probably 2+ more inches now.  Notice the nice upside down "U" shape of my River Birch Tree!

stuffs a bit over my boot tops, approx 8" I'd figure when I stepped out at 10pm, don't know when it stopped falling as I was watching "man on fire" and "tom horn" (both are pretty decent flicks).

hell it was just a dusting on the ground, but falling steadily when I left to feed the animals early this afternoon, shit I looked like a yeti when I walked into my parents house, had just stepped inside the door and got chased back out cause my mom didn't want any snow on her floor.

The wife offered a "favor" if I would run outside in what I was wearing and make a snow angel.  I was bare foot, with jeans and a t-shirt.  As I am not posting a pic of a snow angel, you can probably deduce that I chickened out

Power's out,  Caddo RWD #3 says generators running the pumps are failing so water's going to be shut off,  and reports are some areas might not have power until next wednesday.  7.5k generator and kerosene heater is doing us fine, and internet through TDS is working,  Dish network is intermittent. Elgin is powerless,  no gasoline or diesel until Lawton, even the I-44 Love's at Medicine Park is out of service.

Reminds me of the Army.  It's just like a winter FTX with a much nicer tent and better looking Soldiers.

These were taken today...

Casa Sam and our poor trees.  They should be okay.

Word has it that pole line is the main supply to Elgin.  Six more behind it are down,  Those that aren't snapped have the lines pulled off.

Some of the damage in my development.  The just built house to the left of this photo sold two weeks ago.  Family hasn't even moved in yet.  Between this and when they find out their foundation is on a newly filled-in creek bed,  they're going to feel like they're in the sequel to 'Money Pit'.

This officially sucks –––– my truck is usually pretty good in pure snow,  but there is a 2" thick layer of ice under the snow and it really rags the heck out of my poor Ford getting off the property  (300' gravel driveway - gravel is OK, until it is covered with ice i guess) –– please- no Ford remarks  , i have a Chev that is buried too

I am fortunate to not have lost power and was able to relax and watch a couple of John Wayne films Fri night (Chisum and True Grit ) which was awesome ––- i haven't "relaxed" this much in weeks.

Cool dog Wingman. I have one just like it but I haven't had him clipped since October.

No damage here at the house, just bored as hell.

one of these days I'm going to get some gravel for my driveway, I got 100 yards of saturated red mud covered in ice/snow, then another 300 yards or so of residential red dirt road to blacktop.

I been driving my tractor around since thursday, had to put it 4x because it was cutting ruts some serious ruts in the mud,

see how well my dually travels down the driveway and road to blacktop wednsday when I go back to work, pretty sure when I come back I'm going to be parking just off the road in my drive since it'll be damn muddy.

by the way, I don't like John wanye, he killed more indians than small pox, with a colt and winchester he never had to load
