had to order propane, that shit was $346 for 150gallons, but I needed it, so I paid the price, the place I been buying from for the last 12 years ran on an off day this time since they wanted to have everybody in my area taken care of before the ice hit today, the truck was most likely fully loaded.

but I get off work late and head into town for supplies, get in approx midnight and there's a big fucking hole at the edge of my driveway, I know right away that the propane truck has caved in the top of a septic tank my pop put in 35 years back when he had plans of building a mansion on the little acreage I'm living on, the driver knew it was there, told him about it severaly times, but he was probably in a hurry and/or had forgotten about it since I'm fairly sure I ain't the only one they deliver to in my area.

but I'm not worried about it, figure I'll turn it into a water garden or something since I'm pretty sure it hasn't ever had any shit in it, so much for wednesday.

today I hitch a ride with my pop to the store for 5 gallons of diesel, then back down to my parents place to feed the pigs/chickens and pick up my tractor, figure since I'm broke I won't be needing to drive into town or nothing so no sence driving my truck down their slick assed road everyday to feed.

the pigs are damn happy to see me, not so much the siemese cat that's sitting by my feet staring at them (I imagine him talking to the pigs like the cat in "babe", "people call pigs pork, people eat pork"), the pigs are standing the freezing rain smiling as I filled up the trough; they ate like happy pigs too, chickens had even laid a bunch of eggs (the cat likes to stare at them too), after everything was fed and watered I head inside to dry off and see what my mom had cooked up for lunch, the cat follows me in.

so I'm sitting there talking to my mom, when my pop comes in (damn the weather he had to take his daily trip to town for coffee), he asked if I knew one of the pigs was dead, hell I'd just fed them an hour or so before, so I go out and look and sure enough,

dead pig, fucking dogs had torn his throat, guts and ass out, I waited for them all afternoon, they didn't come back to finish their meal, so maybe tomorrow.

a good thing this week was that I got paid admin time for today and tomorrow.

Well I'm taking the day off without pay and I paid $429.51 for 200 gallons of propane Wednesday.
And by staying home today I'm actually giving up/losing at least 16hrs of OVERTIME possibly more like 24hrs.
Yes it sucks, but that's life.

Fuel prices are really going to get high in the future. Gas prices for the producers are low but high for the consumer i.e. price of propane.
My wife tells me with Obama and his group trying to claim the fracturing and injection methods causes water pollution will keep the oil companies from drilling in shale. She says prices will go through the roof and the oil companies will really be hurt.
Think about it. Prices for consumers go up, but the producers are making less profit. Futures and speculation is gonna empty our wallets in the future.

fuckmefunny on propane prices, back when I bought the place and set up my account 150 gallons ran $65 delivered, then 9/11 happens and the prices been going up like mad ever since.

thinking seriously about installing a woodstove or one of the pellet stoves in my trailer, my ins agent said my policy would cover either as long as it's professionaly installed.

most likely a woodstove cause I got plenty of trees around the place.

are you on one of the monthly fill/year round plans?

if you're not, then who you doing business with, because $1.94/gal beats the shit out of $2.30/gal

hell yeah, he just turned 18 this past november.

you'll probably have to pry him off his momma's tit though, since she's raised him since he was a baby.

got several nephews I been watching over though, it'll be a few years before their out of school, but the military looks to be a good choice for them since they tell me know everything everytime I tell them how to do something

thought about getting the plan the propane vendor I buy from has, but hell I normally don't buy gas but twice a year (spring and fall), had to buy three times so far this winter because I got the thermostat set pretty high, got a cold that won't go away.

I just paid $3.08 a gal at the UHaul on SW 29th in OKC the other day. When I get my bigger bottles, I'm gonna have to shop around.

yeah man, uhaul is always higher than regular propane shops, I use a little place named Bucks in norman to fill the #20 and #100, they don't deliver to home tanks anymore since Buck died years back.

hadn't done much grilling lately so I haven't had them filled, the last time I had the #100 filled it ran approx $36, but that's been about a year or so ago, that was also when my relatives owned the place, don't know what the new owners charge.

I know back then to have a #20 filled was cheaper than walmart did the blue rhino exchanges for.

I've got a filler hose and thief valve up in my attic from when I ran my truck on propane. I'm going to pick up a 250 gal tank on a trailer at an auction this spring or summer if the chance arises.
My son has already found us a couple of the 100# jugs. If I come up with the the bigger tank on a trailer, I may keep those too.
I do know that a generator is a hell of a lot cheaper to run on propane than it is gas.
