| How are they around Fort Sill? Going there in mid Nov. |
|
Not bad, but you'll want plenty of layers. Oklahoma is pretty notorious for having wide variance of "normal". If you'll be there long, you'll definitely want t-shirts and jeans, as well as sweaters/sweatshirts and a coat/hat/gloves.
Really, it all depends on what you're doing...but yeah, layers. |

Old saying here in OKLA, If you do not like the weather, give it 5 min!! Troof! I've seen winters run anywhere from below 0 with -30 wind chills and a couple of feet of snow to 70 and 80 degree highs, sometimes within a few days of eachother. Oh, and let's not forget the blizzard in...what was it? February of 88? It was in the mid 80s at noon and by 2 PM there was a foot of snow on the ground and more coming. Granted, this is closer to Tulsa than Fort Sill, but still.... |

'88? We had a pretty bad blizzard out here in western Oklahoma just a couple of years ago. Snow blowing so hard I couldn't see the 4 foot high wall of snow until my truck hit it! Fortunately I wasn't going fast enough to damage the truck.
In Western Oklahoma always have something to stop the wind and have some warm layers you can add and remove pretty easily. It can be 20 degrees in the morning and 50 degrees by the afternoon. |

I'm lucky I remember that one at all since I was 5 at the time. :) |
