man,

never paid any attention to who done the screenplay based off of harper lee's book but I watched the movie again tonight, and it's still a damn fine movie to watch, even got some krag goodness in it, it's in my top five all time favorite movies, if you haven't seen it, it's worth watching.

don't know if it's still required reading in jr high these days or if it's been nix'd in the name of political correctness, but it'd be a shame if they did 86 it, the book is not a bad read either.

hell, while were on the movie subject, what are your top ten favorite movies?

here's mine (subject to change):

zulu;
to kill a mockingbird;
unforgiven;
siege at firebase gloria;
hamburger hill;
dirty harry;
emporer of the north;
ulzana's raid;
manchurian canidate;

Ndenway, I had to read "To Kill A Mockingbird", but it was sophomore year of high school, not junior high.  Since it was sophomore year of high school, that would have made it the 97-98 school year.

"A Tale of Two Cities" was required reading for our senior year.  That may be the most boring book ever.  I found out I was exempt from the test over it before I got a third of the way through, so I never finished it.

Hey Nden, if you liked Emporer Of The North, you should check out, Runaway Train with Jon Voight and Eric Roberts. Another excellent train oriented movie.

8th or 9th grade for me, along with a bunch of other books (I think approx 16 books), the one's that stick in my mind are the huck fin, great gatsby, of mice and men, old man and the sea, tale of two cities and moby dick.

didn't have any required reading after the 10th grade, back then norman had two mid highs for freshmen/sophmores, then to NHS for junior/seniors, don't remember much of the classes at NHS, think my junior year I had geometry, english, art and work release, senior year was english and work release, with votech in the mornings both years.

think I've seen it, that's the one where they're escaped convicts and the story takes place in the winter.

ETA: I think voight gets his fingers smashed off trying to uncouple the passenger cars from the engine.
