The panic buying will last? Ammo, lowers, parts, all of that shit is outrageous right now. Damn.....I hope this settles down soon. I need ammo, but I am not paying silly prices for the stuff.

I figure if no Democrats make any moves towards the guns right away, things will cool off after the first of the year.
Does seem like things are smoothing out a bit already. We can thank Mr Obama for keeping/putting the firearms industry's back on solid footing during these times of finacial woes! All he had to do was get elected. |

Quoted:
prices will go down when we stop buying the stuff for several months; unless a ban of some type is enacted, then prices will go even higher. Well.....I am not doing any buying riht now. I hope everyone else follows suit. Otherwise shooting as a hobby is gonna stay expensive for sometime. |

I am not sure we will really see a slow down or less intrest. Remember the last time around the interent was not a factor and a lot of people have beeen exposed to firearms because of the internet. There are a lot more of us now than the last time around. Ammo manufactures are not doing to lower the price of ammo based on material commodities of today––they will continue selling higher because they are into the materials at a higher price. Now I bet they are buying up as much as they can with the prices down right now.
BTW, I just listed 2000 rds of Privy 55gr ammo for sale. Good price and local

As a result of the worldwide financial slowdown, many countries and industries will produce less because they sell less. That said, I believe as material prices drop due to less demand, overall prices on ammo, amongst other things, will begin to drop.
Before someone points out that demand for 7.62 and 5.56 is still high, which is true, I mean to say that countries like China will require/buy less lead and brass for their decreased level of manufacturing in all sectors, decreasing overall demand. I suspect the third quarter may be a bellwether period. If Obama doesn't issue an anti-gun statement or indication of a near-future AWB, the economy continues to to slide, and those stockpiling ammo amass their perceived needs, I strongly believe ammo prices will begin to fall. This is pure speculation and is not intended to convince anyone that dropping out of the commodities market is a good idea. I am not an investment professional and do not represent myself as someone who is. |
