Hey All,
This has porbably been asked a GA-ZILLION times, but here goes. Who has the best price for a gun transfer? Went to H&H today and they quoted me $75.00, or 15% of the gun, which ever was higher. Is this a little steep, or is it just me? Who in the OKC area has a better price on gun transfers?? Been hankerin' for a couple of Colt pistols and want the best prices. Thanks, Dave |
| If you are in or near Oklahoma City, e-mail "morrissportinggoods" <[email protected]>; transfers were $10 the last time I used him. |

Wow, that must be their way of saying, "No thanks, we don't really want to do transfers." For example, who would want to pay a $75 transfer on a $100 lower? Mousehouse is in NW OKC and will do your transfers for $10 (or $40 for a NFA transfer) |

Anyone know what the feller at Savage Trading Co. charges for transfers? He seems like good people, much friendlier then the folks at Outdoor America and less expensive then H&H. I did a lot of bussiness with Savage. I bought abrasives from him before he opened the gun shop. Now I will not spend another cent in there. It is all smiles and grins until you ask him to do a transfer. The first one I asked for he said absolutly not, it takes money out of my pocket. Now he will do them but it is a big amount that changes with the attitude of the day. Bill Stover in Yukon is a way better deal and a way better fellow to deal with. |

You are right; several FFLs do not like to do transfers. So they put a high price on each transfer. If they do not have a storefront it means that they have to wait at their home and cannot leave or they will miss the gun coming in. If they miss that gun then they have to go to the main office to pick it up. Many times they are not even notified that the shipment is coming in. Then if the person does not pass the NICs check right off there is a 3-day wait, that is more time they have to spend on that transfer. I know some that just refuse to do them. Others just figure what is it worth for them to have to stay at home waiting for that weapon.
Rebel Jebs in Moore is a great person to do transfers; the last time I talked to him he was not charging very much, it could be $20. But I for some reason remember $15. Central Oklahoma Gun sales in Norman, the last time I talked to him, he was charging $15. a transfer, but he also told me that he was thinking of not doing them any more. |

If you're around the Broken Arrow/Tulsa area.......I charge 20 bucks, doesn't matter if it's one gun or ten of 'em. Don't care how much you paid for it.....that's BS to try to beat a guy out of a percentage.
You wouldn't believe the calls I get, that a guy picked up three or four things, and ends up paying shipping there and back again because some douchebag decided he wanted a bigger cut after he saw what a person was spending elsewhere. C |
| I know that I would use many of the guys on here. One thing that I truly like about using a non-brick and mortar FFL is that their hrs generally work with the times I can make it. Another thing is that they are generally friendly and don;t make you feel like they are doing a big favor for you. When a dealer tells me that they charge 30+ bucks to do a transfer I make a mental note to not use them and call someone that I have used before. I have heard many FFL's mention that it is taking money our of their pocket––BS, it is that they want you to buy something on their shelf, which I understand to a point but when they try to brow beat you with the sob stories that is all it takes for me. Rant off. |
