Alright I cant stand it no more I have been wanting one for a while so I guess I am about to make the jump. I seen some of you guys with them at that last shoot I made it to in Lexington any complaints? are they still cycleing well? anything broke on them yet? I got to pick one up and look at it the other day at big boys and it felt pretty damned solid. Well give me some advice cause I got the bug for one pretty bad and at least I can afford to feed it.

| I gave in while I was home on leave. It certainly is one fun weapon to have, and cheap to shoot. I will recommend doing the firing pin "mod" as soon as you get it. Mine started to light strike after about 200 rounds. Did some work on the pin and it hit em hard every time. I'm 1000 rounds into it with absolutely no problems other than ammo related misfires (full strike, dead primer). Definitely a cool plinker. |

I also have wanted to buy one for awhile. I have found them for under $400 dollars. If you would like to know where than send me an IM. I'm not sure on availability because I have not checked in awhile. Also while we are on the subject anybody do a mod to the stock? I have heard that you can get a standard MP5 stock and switch out the cheap one that comes with it. Anybody done this and where did you get the stock and how much? Preokc thanks for letting me shoot yours and have you finished tweaking it yet? |

The firing pin mod is actually really simple if you are mechanically inclined person. There is a step-by-step how-tp in the GSG forum. All you need is the tool that comes with the GSG and a hobby file set ($12-Home Depot). I added the collaspible stock from Olypic Arms or someone, can't remember. I wasn't expecting much from an airsoft place but the stock came in and was metal and fit tight, locked up tight, and looked killer. Not to mention it felt more solid than the original stock, I couldn't have asked for better quality. You can retro-fit a MP-5 stock but first I would try the penny and foam mod. I spent a few days reading the GSG forum before I bought mine and it pretty much sold me on the gun. It's a cheap and fun gun to tinker with and shoot. Someone mentioned it was accurate, I must say that is very true. I didn't even mess with the sights and this thing is dead on. I was looking into a short barrel and supressor but I couldn't justify the $400 plus parts on this gun. |

I bought a rail from one of the sources listed in the GSG forum, but I don't know if I would get another. It just doesn't fit too well to the weapon. It's tight but I think it's a little cocked to one side. I will have to look at it when I get back to the states. I'm thinking the best bet is to buy a real HK claw mount. $$$ What's a good source for the short barrel like yours with the supressor mount? I would love to go for the SD look with the integral suppressor. Then I might drop a little change :) Haven't really looked so it probably exists to my wallets demise. Anyone know if there is a selection of lowers say, the navy controls? Just a little something to take the clone a step further? |
| I sent my rifle to Gemtech, they cut the barrel and installed their adapter. The suppressor is a SWR QD-Warlock, nice to just pop it on and off without threading it. As far as an integrated "SD" type look, I believe Gemtech is in the process of making one right now. There will be 2 versions, the integrated 16" version that looks a bit longer than what it should but is only one stamp, or the two stamp integral gun which looks physically correct but obvioiusly a bit more expensive. And for a selection of lowers, there have been a couple of people that have gotten airsoft lowers and modified them to use the GSG internals, pretty cool looking, one guy did a Navy lower with all the markings and one did a SEF lower. From what I understand it was pretty easy if you know your way around tools and machining simple parts. |
Been getting a little worried about getting one after reading on the armory GSG forum. That whole barrel cracking thing has me a little stressed seeing how the waranty they say is only 2 years. Of course I am assuming the ones that are doing this are a small percentage but I shoot the shit out of .22's because they are cheap. I am just wondering if they have started a third generation of them that they have worked the bugs out of them yet
