I've ordered a left handed Rem 700 bolt stop spring from Midway TWICE and they have sent me a right hand spring in a bag marked Left Hand. So enough of that crap. I ordered the same thing from Brownells for a few cents more. To make a long story short, they can sell me the extractor for the bolt but not the bolt stop spring. They say it requires an FFL for the a spring smaller than a paper clip. The gun will work without it but it still requires an FFL. Ain't that the livin' shits?

I don't have any idea. I can get it shipped to my partner with an FFL pretty easy but it's pure BS. It it comes from Remington, they may have lost a customer permanently!

I know. That is what floors me. I'll probably make the spring if I have too. But what BS to go through. It's my favorite rifle that I've used on everything from turkeys to elk. I'm going to get extras if I can order the part so I don't have to go through this BS again. |
I'm getting an FFL tomorrow to get the part. My buddy couldn't believe that policy. Last time I bought one was 10 years ago and it was the hardest part to get. I'll get a couple this time. |
C&R? I hadn't thought about that..... My partner has an FFL. I'll get a copy of his and send it in. I've just got to catch him when he's not arresting LEOs.

I'd advise removing the part about mailing in ANYONE elses FFL. My main FFL guy was just "visited" by the BATFE and informed that they had changed the rules. That no one else was legally able to have his FFL or send it to anyplace other than him. Told him that it was a felony. He asked me to destroy any remaining copies, and I complied. |
Ok, I'll take him the envelope and stamp, let him mail it.

Or, you could try your luck...................... ![]()
