Was checking out property we are going to buy and happened to see some morels. Ended up picking several pounds. Awsome!

Well, hell's bell! It's been too damn muddy on my place to check. There are usually tons of morels there. My son and his partner went turkey hunting there Saturday and picked quite a few. But the little turd didn't bring Dad any. Then he called me up wanting to know what I was going to plant in the food plots for him to deer hunt over.........  I'm going up there Tuesday and get some. myself.

They're still popping up. I told my son to shake them where he picked them up so the spores would be there for more shrooms. But my place is bare..... Even dehydrated, they taste good to me. The deydrator is worth the money. That one is new. Three of the five trays of my last one were in the box, but the cap and heating element was gone. When I asked my son where they were, I got the usual "I don't know what you did with it, Dad!" Which means one of his buddies has it.

They have a unique, rather smoky taste. I'm going out again on my place to look one more time. It's been a good year for them but I've just been slow to get them. |
