Bought a Superior Arms lower from Brigadoons. I'm looking at the ace M4 Socom stock for it. Whats the deal with the military spec vs the commercial? I see that some stocks list either/or. Not the Ace though. Will it make any difference? Or will I need to go with a stock thats either one or the other? I dont know for sure, but if I had to guess, the superior is probably commercial. Or as I am now thinking, is it based solely on the buffer tube? In other words, does the receiver have anything to do with it at all? |
I believe they are referring to the buffer tube, not the lower. The Ace stock will work fine for the Superior lower. Just make sure that you have a milspec or commercial buffer tube (whichever) is needed for your stock. |

Yup it is refering to the buffer tube. A commercial tube is a little larger but has smaller threads the milspec tube has larger threads and offers a much more secure lock up with your lower. I believe a commercial stock will fit a milspec tube but will rattle and be loose a milspec stock won't fit a commercial tube without a hammer. I'm in the process of changing my commercial to milspec. |
