I don't know man. I tried to shoot skeet a couple of years ago on Ft Sill. Showed up with my 870 and got the old whore in church look Wonder how they'd look at me now if I was to go and break out my Remy tactical 1100? Bunch a damn snobs.I personally am not interested in spending upwards of $1K on a over and under shotty. Knock yourself out if you want to. |
FK'em I used to attempt to shoot skeet with my mossy bullpup. Imagine the looks I got. ![]() C'mon guys screw what other people think lets go have some fun. |
I used to shoot with the maximum size shotgun any decent upland bird hunter needed - a 20 ga! A Franchi 20 with a 21.5" barrel to boot. It does sound like fun but where will you shoot at? The best sporting clays in OK shut down a year or so ago - Jim Jolly's in Arcadia. And the Southern Ranch in Chandler shut down too. |

I used to shoot a little trap/skeet and sporting clays when I was a teenager. I really liked the sporting clays. My gun of choice was a Remington 1100 in 20ga. that used to be my mom's trap and skeet gun when she was into that stuff. I could handle a 12ga. just fine but the 20ga. seemed like it had plenty of payload and was faster on the follow-up shots. |
Silver Leaf in Guthrie. They have three sporting clay courses and a five stand course. The north (or is it west?) course is too easy in my opinion. I like the challenge of the 2 south courses better. I'd be in for a shoot on any weekend, although I'll be on vaca in a few weeks. There is also the OKC gun club. Members can bring guests, and I know there are several of us that are members there. |
Scott and I are members at OKC so I would be up for "sponsoring" a guest. Have a Rem 1100 that I bought to shoot 3-gun with, but then work interferred and THEN they cancelled the 3-gun at OKC so . . . Never shot skeet before, but it sounds like fun. |
