The main attraction that Tulsa has over OKC is that my sister lives there.
Well, I guess every family has to have a black sheep!
I could say a lot worse about Tulsa, like it really belongs in Texas, but no one from Tulsa would say anything!

My Mother grew up in Tulsa, graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, was acquainted with a guy that eventually moved to Hollywood and changed his name to Tony Randall, but that was before he changed his name to Tony Randall.

Here's another interesting photo, my Grandfather's 1929 Auburn Touring Car parked in front of their home in Tulsa in 1932.

I KNEW someone would claim descent from the Tulsa ruling class! And be proud of it!
I'm sure Tulsa still has "the upper crust" but if you ask anyone from Edmond, they'll tell you ain't sh*t if you ain't from Edmond!
OKC ain't much, I have to admit. But I like it better than Tulsa or Edmond.
We can kick Tulsa around. No one is gonna dispute what is said anyway.
Hell, no one up there will even see if we can get an Arf.com Swap Meet at Happy Hollow!

Dan, are you trying to start a war?

I am from OKC, but I think Tulsa is a little nicer and newer than OKC but that is just my opinion.

Naw, just tryting to stir things up a little. If we can Tulsa vs OKC going, we might have some fun. It's awful dull around here lately.

IMO both are fine cities and have many nice folks... but if I had to choose I'd say OKC feels safer, has better roads and traffic planning, and is more modern.

Well, I do have to admit that Tulsa does have more "culture" than OKC does. But I wouldn't want to live up there. I might get stepped on by a 900 foot Jesus!
Oral Roberts wouldn't lie to us, would he?

pipefitter, if I drive my ass up to Happy Hollow and get permission and set a date for a swap meet, I know you won't show up cuz you're afraid my tired, gimped up old ass will out shoot you!

Of course, we might have expand that statement to start a turnpike shooting match to prove who has the better shots - OKC or Tulsa!
If you Tulsa boys want to take us up on the challenge, then let's do the swap meet and have the shootin' contest right after!

danc46,come on down, when we meet ill supply you with some trash bags and rig wash.that way on your way home you can clean that trashy city of yours up.!

pipefitter, if we got rid of all the trash in Oklahoma City, the State government buildings would be empty!!!!!
No kidding, years ago working construction around the capital, at lunch time you could watch the state legislators going into the cheap hotels on Lincoln with much younger women!
I guess when our last Republican governor put the dome on the capitol building and cleaned up Lincoln, all those young working girls moved to Tulsa!
But back to the last issue I raised about a swap meet/shooting contest, I noticed you didn't say one damn thing about targets or shooting. I guess that means you admit us OKC boys can whip you Tulsa boys hands down when it comes to shootin'?

you can try danc46 you will probably not getr done . hell i have 2 rifles i havent even sighted in. i do need to blow some rounds off. at the present time i am busier than a cat trying to cover up shit. where building downtown up trying to catch up to you guys on the new bok arena,if it turns out as nice as the ford it will be wonderful.

pipefitter, glad there's lots of work up there in Tulsa. I was at the union hall the other day setting up some political action stuff and visited with the BA. The IBEW has some men out of work but lots coming up. They are about to build an Indian Cultural Center across the river from Bricktown, close to the I-35/I-40 junction. It'll all be union!
Ndenway once said Brad Henry will put a Harrah's in downtown OKC before he leaves office. I think he is right!!!!!
I guess that's one other thing OKC will have over Tulsa besides better shots!

OKC SUCKS for fishing and getting away from people.  lake Arcadia wanted to charge me 7 bucks to see if I wanted to fish in the lake.  You have to buy permits to fish anywhere around here, as well as your fishing license.  The lakes are crowded if you have to fish off of the bank.  Plus, these little pot holes are nothing like the eastern oklahoma area lakes.   Sorry about the rant, but I have nothing to do but fish and am getting tired of being in someones hip pocket to do so.

danc46..pipefitter and I and our little indian pal have seen you shoot at Jason's..in fact I've shot your rifle..and I'm inclined to think it's your rifle that's the shooter, not the loose nut stuck to the stock.

If us N.E.Ok shooters can't take you OKC shooters at HH it'll be because you laid your shoot-n-see targets at your feet and shot the 10 ring before you put 'em up at the range.

OKC is upside down...in Tulsa all the riff-raff is on the north side....well maybe it isn't after all.

And calling us Mexans is almost grounds for an ND......

See ya at HH.

Eta: Okiehunter...come on up and you can fish in my backyard (Lake Hudson)

Hudson is the best fishing lake in Oklahoma.  I enjoyed fishing it.  I can't drive that far unfortunatly.   Good offer though!

All right! Now we got us some controversy!!!!
Yeah, my rifle is a shooter all right. I'm the one that built it! It ain't exactly stock!
I"ll go up to HH this next week and see if we can get a date set.
"the loose nut stuck to the stock" is gonna get something going yet!

Don't worry, Tulsa Arf.com members, I'll find Happy Hollow!

If I didn't have to go into Tulsa to work then I would stay the heck out of that city. Urban areas are sh!t magnets in the first place. I view your question kind of like; Which one stinks worse, cow sh!t or horse sh!t?

Have fun in Sapulpa. Don't forget the banjo strings.

Well I'm pretty much sure that all citys suck ass. If I didnt have to work for a living I'd never go to one. Lawton sucks big ass.

I suppose that they're ok to visit. I just know for sure that I never want to live in one again.

Country living ain't all it's cracked up to be either. If you don't have someone around all the time, you may come home to an empty house.
Living in a small town or big city can suck too. I've done all three. All I can say is I like the convenience of going out for a cup of coffee at 3:00 AM and not having to drive 25 miles to do it. 5 minutes and 3/4 of a mile, tops, from where I live now.
The biggest disadvantage I see living where I do now is I can't step out onto the front porch to take a leak, shoot a gun, or fart like I have a bugle in my back pocket. Unless I do it when I go out for coffee early in the morning!

The biggest disadvantage I see living where I do now is I can't step out onto the front porch to take a leak, shoot a gun, or fart like I have a bugle in my back pocket. I'll still take country living. I walk out to my "range" to shoot. I can pee from my porch if I choose to. Have neighbors who look after each other.

I'm not as social as Nden. I dont have much use for most people as a matter of fact. Most "city guys" seem to be morphing into the metrosexual animal that I detest. I really worry about the future of this nation with the future generations. Getting grumpy and hermit like as I get older, I guess.

I remember living in Lawton. Damn people going up and down the streets at all hours blasting the music so loud it rattled the windows in the frames. Greeting some gentleman hiding behind a tree in my front yard at 2300 with a .357 in my hand. City trying to charge me to put up a privacy fence on my own property. While having a street sign in my yard for free(eminent domain). Having a water bill that was less than 50% of it was for water. I can go on and on.

but I hear you on the queer PC stuff, it does seem there is quite a few pussboys around theses days, I just attributed it to every liberal teaching this PC no child left behind bullshit,

adversity and hardship is what builds character in men, not all the coddling and handholding they teach in schools these days, where no child is held responcible for their actions and whatever they do wrong is chalked up to being societies fault,

where even a fuckoff is given the same oppertunities as someones who's worked hard and earned the right but is not chosen because it wouldn't be fair to the class fuckup.
