We got in the stands around 6:30am. All we saw were women and children in the morning. I hunted over the food lots this evening. There were around 20 doe and a few small spikes on the food plot from about 6pm til dark. Then they all look over towards the fence and take off. Here comes this guy in blaze orange walking up and sits on the fence line. I'm so pissed. I walk over to him and he has his 30/30 with him. I tell him this is leased and he says he has been hunting here for 10 years. I tell him to leave and he starts to get an attitude. I tell him I'm calling the game ranger for trespassing and hunting out of season with a rifle. The guy walks off. I couldn't get a hold of the game ranger. DanC does the ranger live on the same road that JH's is on? |

If you screw with the game warden's hunting on opening day, you'll screw yourself. C####eau ain't gonna come. I saw him in town around 7:20 PM on the north end of town. I stopped in to get Ol Bud some chewing tobacco before I went to see him and Cxxxxeau was driving past giving me the eyeball! I crawled all over his ass for the ODWC not giving Ol Bud any publicity for killing a buck at 103 last year. C****eau used to live in a double wide on the Twin Lakes Road, the first black top past Lakeside Station going north, just east of 74. He hunt's down on D. Smith's place. Probably why you have seen him so much on the road between the Colonel and JH's place. I've hunted down in that area over 10 years ago pretty extensively. The guy that drops of the hunters that you are talking about is a welder, lives on the south end of town on the east side, just north of the donut shop. There are several brothers involved. Including the a**hole that use to lease the house and farm on the opposite corner of the Colonels. Take a camera next time, make sure it has the date stamp, and take a picture of the turds. But don't count on the friggin' game warden, the county sheriff, or even the District Attorney to give a shit. You don't live up there and don't vote in Logan County so you are shit out of luck. I'm not trying to be smart about it, I'm telling you how it is. The only way to stop those turds is make them afraid of you. That group includes the game ranger and the sheriff's departments. That means either physically or influence wise. I gave you my phone number quite a while ago. I don't know if you still have it, but I"ll IM it to you again. Matt and his buddy had some does within 30 yards but let them go. They were too busy filming to kill one. I'm sure getting tired of seeing deer pictures, I want to see some fresh meat in the freezer. That is one reason I went to Crescent this evening. Got to visit the old man, check out my places north - the wheat still hasn't been drilled - and to see those two boys bag a damn deer. They ain't worth a damn, either one of them. Only after a set of horns! They must not be desparate as 1shott! Just kidding, 1shott. I'm gonna do my best to see you get a decent buck! But as oubeta has talked about here, you can never tell what the Crescent assholes will do to screw up your hunting!

I own land in Logan County and I have had O.K. luck calling the Sheriff and reporting the trespasser's and in having the Game Warden including XXXXpeau himself and one from Oklahoma County interested in illegal hunting. When I find people on my land I always try to escort them to their car (unless they are neighbors and then I just make it clear that trespassing isn't allowed) and call and report the incident. Have the Sheriff log it in their event log with the tag number, names, etc. right in front of them. The second time they are caught the record of the first incident can be used to elevate the trespassing charge offense. I have not had any repeat offenders. During bow season I always carry a gun and during rifle season I had a guy walk right across the creek from me on opening morning of gun season with a blue tick and a black and tan hound with locator collars on. I convinced him that he should leave and that his dogs would find their way home without his help. Good thing I like dogs and I just hated to see them dragging around those heavy locator collars that fell into the pond. The game wardens knew exactly who I saw and where he lives, but they were staking out one of his cohorts that morning. They spend a lot of time chasing the same people breaking the same laws over and over again. It is a regular PITA to try and keep people off of your land. Signs get torn down regularly unless you get a ladder and put them up in trees, where they are then shot. Old tires work good for signs and they are a lot harder to drag out of the area and pretty bullet resistant. Semi regular machine gun shooting seems to help minimize the desire of most of the immediate neighbors to visit. Once during blackpowder season a teen age girl came walking up the dry creek I was sitting on with her dog in tow. I waited until she was about 10' from me to say Hi. I was in full camo with gloves and a head net and she was totally shocked. I took off my head net and nicely told her that it wasn't a good idea to walk in the woods until after deer season was over. |

I think everyone that has any sized property above 5 acres has problems with deer hunters trespassing, signs are just targets to them, I seen one trying to sneak through the woods early this afternoon, he was about 15yards off the fenceline on the states side, I figured he'd stay on that side till he got on up around the houses, then hop the fence, I'm gonna head back in the brush behind my parents place in the morning and see how many new deer stands I inherited, I asked a deputy that lives on adjoining property to leave last fall and he tried giving me the I got the owners permission bullshit, he couldn't produce it when I told him I was an owner, a couple of days later I did get a deer right close by where he was set up, the feeder he put out worked pretty good to bring them to that spot, hell I'd invite the sonofabitch back if he'd set up his feeder again, but then again, he's got an attitude problem with a chip on his shoulder about something. |

The deer don't read the No-Trespassing signs, so why should the locals? I know, I was one of them in Logan County at one time. I did a fair amount of crossing other people's property to get where I wanted to go. Some of the places I hunt, I've had the land owner on the property next to me come tellling me not to come on his land WHILE I'm hunting. Drive up and run deer off. NOT on his property. Then a few days later, I catch the MFer hunting in the same area, not his land.. If I had crossed on his property, he would have filed charges. I told the old SOB I would whip his ass next time he screwed with my hunting. I told him in a very nice way though without raising my voice and up close in his face. The fact is, in Logan County, they expect you to stay off their property but have no compunction or hesitation about hunting on yours. Matt had the asshole next to us come running up to see who was hunting on our land and on old Buds. The bitch next to me has a pit bull she lets run loose. I've only seen it once and it got in the brush before I could get the rifle out. Matt asked the asshole if the dog was his and he denied it. It has already killed a calf. I told Matt to kill that dog if he saw it. I will. But wait and see if they don't raise hell if we kill that dog. I'm telling you, Logan County is the shits. Big_B, if you get better service from Champeau and the Logan County Sheriff's Department, it is becasue they percieve you to have quite a bit of money or a very large busniess. They are bad in that regard. If you have enough money, Champeau will put his nose right up your ass all the way to your belly button. He avoids my son like the plaque every time he goes into Bass Pro mostly because Matt knows how he is. It doesn't matter to Matt, he just takes things as they come. It just pisses me off I have to pay that guy's salary and he doesn't do shit for the average hunters except FINE them if they screw up. |
All Champeau has ever done for me is answer his phone. The number for every Game Warden is published in the hunting regs. I never expected to even see a Logan County Sheriff as they are always at least 1-2 hours away -in an emergency. I lived in Logan County for 12 years and I know the Sheriff's department is horrible, but they do answer their phone and that is all I expect them to do. They aren't ever going to come running to arrest an evil poacher, or trespasser. On the flip side, when the neighbors call about their "missing dog" nobody is going to come out and investigate its disapearance. When I lived in Logan County a neighbor had a car stolen about 1/2 mile away. He lived next door to an FBI agent and I lived across the street from one. The stolen car ended up at one point in front of my house and I called 911 and nobody even cared. Nobody came out for over an hour and a half and it was so bad that I had the Edmond 911 department calling the Sheriff's Dept. on the line with me to find out what in the hell they were doing so there would be a recording of the incident. The two FBI agents caught the guy in the car and made the arrest. Another time a man driving a truck shot at a couple of deputies and they chased him and he ditched his truck on the road behind our neighborhood. Nobody ever came by to even tell us to be on the lookout for an armed assailant who had already shot at the cops. He ended up at a house about 1/4 mile away and took a woman hostage for a couple of days before he was finally captured. They never looked at the house he hid in and it was the only house in plain sight of his truck. So many deputies went through his vehicle before a dog was brought in that he could not be scent tracked. They set up road blocks for miles and check our trunks and ID's, but they never looked at the closest house to his ditched truck. I live in Edmond now, but the Edmond Police Dept. couldn't find my neighbors house the other day and I even called on the 911 system from a land line and gave them the freaking address. An hour later they still had not shown up, but the dispatcher told me she had two officers looking for the location. I gave her the color of their mailbox and they finally found it. The address is on a main road well inside the City limits. You don't get much easier than that. |
Big B, you can get pictures, have witnesses, hold the turds at the scene, then call the Logan County law, and nothing will get done. I went several times to the sheriff with witness statements and quite a bit of proof of what was going on. Champeau and the sheriff said I would have to talk to ADA Luke Duell, which I did. He told me I would have to have the LEO press the charges. The LEOs kept telling me to talk to Luke Duell. ![]() Of the multiple with the dope snitch/thief/bitch next door, no record existed when I served a subpoeana. The sheriff sent what record he had - one page, there should have been about 20 or more - AFTER the court date. So if you have trouble with a Logan County resident, you are on your own if you don't live in Logan County. My great uncle was the Chief of Police in Guthrie, my grandfather was a police officer there, and so on. It has always been that way and always will be. Even cousins that have full time commissions think Logan County is the worst they have ever seen - and that is saying a lot in Oklahoma. Some of the sheriff deputies are really good guys but they can only do what they are allowed to do. And speaking of Game Rangers, ask one about what the Guthrie cop did when he caught his wife with a certain ranger at Guthrie Lake!
