We've all paid for deer if you've ever bought a hunting license in Oklahoma. Now paying extra for deer is another matter. I pay for the property tax, I pay for the fence and materials to maintain the property, I paid for the feeders and stands on the place, I keep buying corn and salt blocks to keep on the property, but have I paid for a deer since I got my lifetime hunting license? Nope! But I've spent quite a bit feeding the furry little things!

I got the lifetimes also, my pops figured up one time that it only took six yrs for them to pay for themselves, so the way I figure whenever I shoot a deer, depending on what I've shot them with cost anywhere from .04 to .55 cents apiece, then I have to take into account the ones I've hit with a vehical, those cost a lot more, and the ones that I've been givin cause the people tried to skin and butcher them theirselves and couldn't, those cost the gas I burnt going to pick them up, yeah, like Dan says, the lifetimes are the best investment a young hunter can make. just thought, didn't the licenses go up to about $8 bills? |
