Hey, Does anyone own a Trijicon??  I've been lookin at a few and DANG if they not high priced.

I know the best of something always or usually commands a price, but I hate it that they cost more than my HBAR IIs and my new Bushmaster.  I'm going to be up in OKC the 21st-27th, and back at my folks in Chandler.  I've got a Bushmaster ordered at Outdoor America and will pick it up some time that week. I thought when I'm in OA I'll look at the scopes they have.

Any thought on this scope or anything similar....even the "hunting" scope is appreciated. Even other stores or shops around OKC-25 mile range.

Thanks, Dave

I've handled a few what specific model are you thinking about.
What are your intended uses for it.
Are you going to put it on a flat top or carry handle.
The only really bad product they make is the tri power from my understanding they have stoped production but their are still new one's out their being sold.

Basic gun range, pasture shooting.  I can remove the handle but like handle mounted scopes.

So, grooVe which one  or one(s) do you have and how do you rate them compared to other scopes???

Bottom line.... are these too much(price) for what the NON-military person needs?  Most of the guys I shoot with have EOTechs, Leatherwood, even a few have ACOG 3x5.  On my Colt HBAR II ,I've got a Leopold-VX.

I'm  just lookin to see if anyone has the Accupoint and would rate it + or-.  Heck, even on my Sako rifles the scope sure doesn't cost more than the rifle.

Ok, you've got me!    I don't own any Trijicon stuff.  I am in the same boat as you.  $1k for a 4x scope!? No way!  If I was going to spend $1k on a scope it would be a 20x Mark4.  I agree with you, but the reason for the was that ALOT of people DO use Trijicon stuff.  You question just seemed a little naive to me is alll  Nothing personal, just funny.

grooVe,  Another thing I'm trying to figure out is this city....Houston.  I've grown up in Oklahoma and moved down here.  Lots of URBAN COWBOYS.....don't get me wrong.....I just can't figure out some people, I guess money is no object.

Example:  Good friend just bought an Iron Horse(SLC) motorcycle and only drives it on the weekends????? Go figure???  I drive mine all but when I've got to go with the wife to buy groceries.

What part of Colorado you in??  I used to run ALOT in Durango,Cortez, Dolores, and Telluride area.

Shot many an elk around Dolores.

I'm from up north in Fort Collins, but for the moment I'm in CA going to school.  I would still be back there, if it weren't for the fact that the family is splitting up and I don't have a place to stay.

I have only been to Durango a hand full of times but I really like it; beautiful place.  And yes, Colorado has some great places to hunt elk.

Bottom line yes too much IMHO
Reasons why.
If your not LEO or militiary why do you need an optic thats that rugged and limited IMHO I'm talking about acog's

if you pay more than 600 for a accupoint you've paid too much new price.

Don't get me wrong if you've got the green and thats what you want more power to you.
I buy shit all the time I don't need. Not to mention it does have a cool factor.
For me the Leupold is the way to go. It's american made isn't going anywhere and is a damn fine optic. Not to mention I know a guy who ran over one and they replaced it .

Red dots are another animal.  There is a defanite reason for buying a aimpoint or eothing "i own one and will be adding aimpoint now that the 2moa is available"

reasons are simple extemely rugged
Battery life AA eothing is what I have but I will be purchasing a new aimpoint.

I don't know how much you shoot. I shoot a lot batteries in cheap red dots go down quick if you use one as much as I do you will recoup the initial outlay in battery savings.
My dad spent $120 bucks last year on batterys for a bsa red dot on a 22  in another 2 years he will have spent enough money on batterys to pay for an aimpoint wich is a hell of a lot better optic
and would probably only have to buy 1 or 2 batterys for it in that lenght of time.

I know it sounds stupid to put an optic on a 22 that cost twice what the 22 did but in the long run if you like red dot's and you really use them you cant go wrong.YMMV as always but it's definetly something to consider.

Thanks acman145acp,  Sometimes I need a REALITY check.  Coming from the country to the city life I guess I've become a weekend warrior

I not much of one to follow the crowd.   Just wanted to see others opinions, now that I'm confined to gun ranges.

P.S. I think I mentioned this before.  That's a might fine organization your (and me) in.

Dont wory about the weekend warrior thing your talking to a guy who just droped 4cnotes on small camelback system a tactical tailor mav and a flashlight and I didn't even buy everything yet to complete my new setup.

I hope by next year to take some carbine classes and start competing in 3 gun"for fun not trying to win".

Don't get me wrong for a Combat optic the acog would probably get the nod from me.

But with  a Larue mount and  aimpoint/eothing and larue spr mount and a leupold  I think you have a much more versatile weapon not to mention it goes on anything with a flat top.  You would probably have a little more money in it this way but look at the options you have versus a fixed power optic.

I agree it's a fine organization and it's always nice to know you have friends you haven't met yet.

You might consider the Aimpoint Comp C, it starts at around $299, comes with a mount, and has Aimpoints battery conserving feature, one of the best deals around for a tactical type sight.  The other Aimpoints usually don't come with a mount, so the Comp C saves quite a bit of money right there.

I just got an ACOG, TA-01 (my wife must love me, it was a birthday present).  Very rugged and easy to use.  I like the no battery required thing.

Always good to talk with fellow travelling men.
