Randy Forbes lost his primary bid: Forbes got primary'ed
Randy used to be quite the conservative but as with most reps that have been in DC too long, they forgot what they were sent there to do. He had several opportunities, like all the other GOPe congresscritters, to do the right thing and he caved. Although Forbes blamed his loss on redistricting, he has only himself to blame. Regardless, I'm quite pi$$ed about being redistricted into Bobby Scott's district. |

So the way I see it, HE thought it was more important for HIM to be a congreeman than to fight the fight for his constituents....
Glad he lost. Quoted:
You do know that Forbes was running for 2nd district this time instead of the 4th because there was a snowball's chance in hell of him winning the 4th with how it was redrawn? |

Yes and part of the 4th was put into the 2nd. It was also redrawn to make it a majority black, and therefor democrat district. |

This same thing happened to Ron Paul in the early 90's. His district was redrawn and he ran for congress in the district that was adjoining his old one, which was partially made out his old one. Of course he is going to run for the seat where he will most likely win. He was also a staunch defender of the 2A, the military, local shipyards, and the local ports. But fuck him right? Some of you are so obsessed with saying fuck the GOP that you lose track of the democrats. |

I have no respect for those who face adversity and run away or take the easy path then one who tries to do the right thing and loses in the process. That's the problem with so many politicians, it's about amassing power not serving the constituency. |

You know there was a black woman running in the 4th but the GOP chose the white dude instead. ![]() I said it in another thread, GOPe talks about playing chess not checkers, problem is they are playing Magic the Gathering at a basketball tournament, thinking they will eventually win. ![]() |

My parents live in the fourth district and always had nothing but good things to say about him. Apparently, he would occasionally personally answer the phones at his office from time to time. I don't know much about him or his voting record since I don't live in that district but based on what I have heard he seemed like the type of person we need in government. I have no problem with him seeking election somewhere that would make it possible for him to get elected. |

| I'd vote for Forbes over either of the two $hit$stains we currently have "representing" us in the Senate. Forbes showed no spine for stopping the Obama agenda, mainly because he's a party regular and the head of the House was weepy Boehner, and replaced by just-as-bad Ryan. Perhaps he has learned his lesson about what it actually takes to be a conservative - actions, not words. |
