I definitely made the right call the middle of last month when I ordered some new more offroad capable tires for my truck even though the old ones had plenty of legal tread.

8.9"  rain has stopped for the moment and 33 deg. Still plenty of snow on the ground.  Should get interesting tonight when it freezes over.

I got around 8" of snow/sleet, no rain......At least this batch was snow-blower worthy. I had it knocked out in about a hour.

As always the worst part was in front of the driveways where Mad Max the town snow plow driver piles it up.

Both driveways have Southern exposure so I suspect the skim that was left behind by the snow-blower will be gone by the time it gets cold again.

Quite the "winter wonderland" yesterday though.

20-24" in my yard. Got stuck in my driveway Saturday thanks to VDOT and the 40" berm they left behind. Knocked my mailbox over with plow throwing snow at 50 mph.

The last week has been great. . Never thought I would see -20.

Parents got 20" on their hill, had to doze the driveway to get out.

I have to admit that I've never done vehicle maintenance in 70 degree weather with almost 2 feet of snow around me.

That was a weird experience.  It was actually quite convenient to have dirty hands and just grab a bunch of icy snow and wash my hands with it on the spot.  I rather liked it...

Plow, salt and repeat. I am about to go plow again in Warren county. Week was all clear on weather underground, go to work and its all snow.

I had an old project bike and a sidecar frame under it. They're OK. But it is a heavy assed mess right now. I'll clean it up once it thaws.

I am not far from Dulles, and we have what looks like a little over 5 inches already. When it stops, I will fire up the snowblower and be done in under an hour.

Wife and I went to look at a snow blowers in the Fall.  This decent one was on sale at HD, so we went to see if it would fit in her SUV:

Ariens Deluxe 24 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas

There was no way...so I considered calling a buddy with a truck, but finally said screw it, I'll shovel again this year.

Yeah, we both regret it.

In continuing my commitment to laziness, I'm simply going to wait one day and let the sun clear my driveway for me

We had more than 8 inches when it was all said and done. It was a fair amount of work even with the snowblower. But at least it was a great snow day with the boys.
