It was 41 degrees on my back deck at noon. It's 8pm now, and it's down to 10. I dread to think how much lower it's going to go. Zero, anyone?
ETA: 8:56pm, and now down to 7. |

It's not like we haven't had cold weather before. Very true. But it seldom gets this cold. I think the sudden shift is more the problem. We usually get at least one or two really cold weeks per winter. Depending on your location in VA some of the 97% (heating design point) can be suprosingly high. Northern VA is right around 17F. That means that only 3 percent of winter hours will be below that temp (about 66 hours per winter). Parts f Shenandoah valley in the 'snow prong' that sticks down from PA are significantly lower, along with higher elevations (on those immensely tall hills). Here is a hint for wind chill. Do not go out naked in the winter. |

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Wish you guy's had spoken up yesterday. It's a little too late now, call me short stump, but I'm sure others will appreciate the advice. |
