Wife wants a weekend at the beach and a day at Busch Gardens.
Where to go and what to do? Is VA Beach good? Somewhere else? Any hotel recommendations in between so as no jumping from one to another? TIA |

Traffic into busch gardens is terrible and backs up the whole interstate, so make sure to get there early. Depending on what you are looking for I would avoid the main beach in va beach, it is too crowded, unless you guys like that kind of thing. We always go to sand bridge beach instead or down to the outer banks.
I would say spend the day in busch gardens then make the drive down to the outer banks and check into your hotel on the beach there. The outer banks is much nicer. Just might be hard to get a room on short notice. Edit: where are you coming from |

Sterling. She just wants the beach and ocean but wants it warm enough to go in too. She was thinking Delaware but her coworkers just went and it was cold. May try the bridge beach. Plan is beach on Sat, gardens Sun and then beach again on Mon before heading home. Trying to get one hotel instead of two and that pain.

If you have Monday to work with, I would strongly recommend that you do Busch Gardens that day rather than on a weekend. The lines and crowds will be much smaller. It will also work out better for you in terms of planning your trip - if you go to VA Beach or Outer Banks, Busch Gardens will be on your way back. |
| The best times for BG is Monday through Wednesday. Anytime after that it is too crowded. Spend the weekend at VA beach in a hotel and you really would not have to drive anywhere and would be right down town. It just sucks when you have to drive to the beach and fight all the traffic and hassles. I don't even like to drive my patrol car down there on the weekends... The jellyfish are out in numbers so bring a small thing of vinegar with you just in case. |
