| We are talking about out of NJ. SouthEast VA is a consideration, we thought a near a beach area, at least 2 acres, more like 10 though. We would appreciate any help. |

A guy I run rescue with once explained how he moved from NJ to the boondocks of VA.
When he packed up his house, he put his snow blower in the back of his truck. When people started asking what that weird looking thing in the back of his truck was, he picked up a real estate magazine. |

Just what we need another "Damn Yankee". Just remember, when you move here, you leave NJ behind and don't try to make VA like it. I'm not near the beach either, so no help with that. Big +1, you and yours maybe right thinking Americans but every time I see a Jersey tag around here (NOVA) I cringe. What a Libtard, no left turn, jug handled mess you have in up in the "Garden State". Worst part of the car ride from VA to NY is the gauntlet known as Jersey. I hope you succeed in your escape plans. Thanks guys, Well first when I went to college, I was asked where in the south I was from? I am from South Jersey...we are not like the north. I grew up with a But as a the son of immigrants...they both came from the old Europe...before they castrated the men and made the women ....whatever. I open doors for people, say hello and have no problem bullshitting with a stranger. And i carry a .45 everyday.
As for land, not on the ocean is fine. Some acres on a river would be cool. Moneywise, I am cheap and it depends on how the book goes, so far I have been told a real good chance of a best seller and a miniseries. Part of the reason is I am spilling the truth on a lot of dirty polititions and cops. I will tell you about it over a few beers, I am looking for a place where the people are honest, say hello to strangers and still salute the flag. |

Wind- Take a look at the Middle Penninsula and Northern Neck areas. Lots of great land on tidal creeks and rivers. Check out the following counties: Essex, King and Queen, King William, New Kent, Gloucester, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, Mathews, James City and even Charles City. All are in the eastern third of the state and have great waterfront potential. You will pay a premium for ANY waterfront land, but coming from New Joisy you will probably think it is cheap. Good luck! I've got lots of family in Lancaster County, VA so PM me if you want info for that area. |

| I was loooking at VA first, I have a sister on the coast in NC, nieces and nephew in MD and FL. But I appreciate the offer from WV. My chief has a house there, he won't need it, when I am done he will be someones bitch in prison. One reason we are considering leaving is the tax rate will be going up....seems they are getting sued a lot here and I will be pissing off some cops when I come out about the corruption...So we want a peaceful place to be left alone. Can I bring a harem with me? |

You may want to consider northeast North Carolina. If you are a retired LEO, military, or other government retiree, their is no state income tax on your retirement. I live just over the Virginia line in NC and rural land here is relatively inexpensive and you are close enough to the Tidewater area (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chespeake, etc) to have all the amenities of shopping, medical, etc.
The only drawback, is it turns out NC isn't as gun friendly as VA mainly in ownership of NFA items. For all practical purposes, machinegun ownership is a no go. You can though, purchase long guns across state line allowing you to buy stuff in Virginia. Pistols have to be purchased in NC. The tidewater members on AR15.com are a great bunch with occasional get togethers. I am so close to Virginia that I hang out on this forum more than the NC hometown forum. Quoted:
