Yup - been riding 27 years.... (dang, now I feel old) I'm up near Charlottesville - very close to the start of the BRP. Here's my current ride ready for a week long trip... http://people.virginia.edu/~rjs7m/V-Strom/07GOTS/07GOTS-6.jpg Take care, Bob S. |

my rides start out in alexandria but i usually head west or south looking for some nice winding roads. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v619/1iviper/6-05-07045.jpg If that's an old picture, then disregard. Otherwise, you need a state inspection. |

Dude! DL for the mother huggin win! Thanks - it's a great ride. Good handling - good power - very comfortable for long hauls (with a few changes). It really is a SUV of motorcycles. Take care, Bob S. Very good bikes! My dad has a DL1000. Bought it new in 2006 and currently has a little over 50,000 miles on it |

In the 18 years we've been living here, my father has never gotten his bike(s) inspected. When I bought my bike in '08, I took off the plate for the sticker and tossed it in the trash along with the reflectors.... |

Well - I've ridden through at least 3 road side checks in the last few years - come down a road and find 3-4 police cars on the side with officers checking DL, Registrations, & inspections.
With most localities having financial issues, I'd expect that number to go up this year. So - what's the big problem in your world about having your bike inspected? Are you afraid it will fail? Ride safe, Bob S. |

I've been through multiple road stops where they always ask where my inspection sticker is. I don't think there is anything that says it has to be clearly visable so I run mine on my fork tube down inside my front fairings. |
