Stephan was killed in action at FOB Keating in Afghanistan.

I knew his brother when I was younger.

I just got back from Leesburg airport where he was brought from Dover AFB.  Late last night I got an email saying he would be arriving there this morning, being so close to the airport I felt I had to go over.  There were several hundred people at the airport and even more people along Sycolin Rd.  The county sheriff and town police chiefs were all there.  It was obvious that many of those there were veterans.  There were about two dozen riders with the Patriot Guard Riders.  Everyone was very respectful and not a protester to be found.  I wasn't sure want to expect from my county, but I wasn't let down.

I probably should have gone to the funeral, but I sent his brother my condolences.

RIP.

RIP bro

I'd use the term KIA though, murdered doesn't do him the justice that his sacrifice has earned.

I agree...Murder implies victim.  As a soldier killed in combat, he's a hero.

RIP SPC Mace, and thank you for your sacrifice.

+1 As a veteran I couldn't agree more.
