After looking through the resources posted above I could only find one Cass III dealer close to me.  With that said I'm in Winchester and need a dealer to transfer a few items I'm in the process of purchasing (3 suppressors and 2 machine guns).  I know Stonewall Arms will transfer but I ain't paying $100 for them to do it...also I've heard through the grape vine that FCF has raised the price and if so I'll be looking elsewhere.  So who else does NFA stuff and what do they charge?  Thanks for the help.

Stonewall and FCF are the only two I know of in Winchester.

If you're willing to drive east a bit, contact Farrokh at Innovative Tactical in Herndon.

FCF...highly recommended, Harlan's great to deal with.

I've heard FCF is good to deal with, however as mentioned if he has raised his prices I'm going elsewhere.  Like I said this isn't the first item I've purchased and the paper work takes 2 minutes to fill out, after that all the leg work is on me.

No idea what their Class-3 transfer prices are or if you consider Leesburg "close to you", but Loudoun Guns can probably help you out.

Don't forget storage fees, he has to keep it for possibly months

It takes a little bit more than 2 minutes to fill out paper work, finger print cards, and proof of citizenship on 5 NFA items. And as mentioned above the storage and being responsible for your NFA items for 3 to 6 months has to come at some fee.  You should know that  this is the price you pay when you get into the class 3 game. Good luck.

2 min on your end.  And as already mentioned the dealer has to store it.  If the shop isn't huge this can become a burden.  If I were a NFA dealer this is exactly why I wouldn't do NFA transfers.  FCF,  Innovative Tactical, John Oliver and Doug Stockman have all done great business.

FCF is the way to go.   Remember, he pays an extra annual fee to ATF for the Class III ($500?) and has to recover those costs..  I don't think $50 or $75 dollars is too much.  Might be able to get a volume discount if they are all at once.

You can also try Purcell Guns in Purcellville.  I think his regular transfers are $50.
 So don't hold your breath.

Agreed.  $100 for a one-time fee for a process I don't have the license for is insignificant in the Class 3 world.  And yeah, his insurance has to cover it while its there, for months.

Remember he is protecting/liable for your machine guns(how much did you pay?) I pay my dealer $100.00 per transfer. He does me a service and takes care of my stuff. Sorry, you just come off as a cheap person who can afford machine guns. hell the government takes $200.00 from you for nothing

The FEES are the same as they have always been for NFA transfers. Not sure where you got your info from but it is incorrect. It does take longer than 2 minutes to fill out the paperwork. As a customer you only see part of the process. As an example, WRT to MGs, there is a state registration which is a PITA and has to be done within 24 hours. Do not forget the cost of the license, the OH, Insurances blah blah blah and a little profit. An SOT costs $1000 per year and an FFL $300 for 3 years.

Hope this clarifies.

Interesting...first NFA item I had transfered through there cost me $25.

Well that was a mistake ($25) as it's $50. Not to be a jerk but $50 is cheap.

Huh...it was a mistake four times then as I've had four items transfered through there...all @ $25.

That's fine...still doesn't change the fact that I had 4 items transfered there all of them for $25.

Do me a favor and IM me your name because i would like to understand why you were charged $25 which was our non-NFA transfer charge. If we did it for you for $25, then it was a favor to you. The reality is it takes much more than 2 minutes to complete the transaction. It also takes a $1,000 per year SOT, Insurance, OH etc etc.

The price for the record is $50.

I was wondering if you could elaborate on this statement for me. You say here that you have "heard" that FCF is good to deal with and in another post said you have done 4 NFA transfers through them. Wouldn't that experience take you out of heresay and into actual experience?

Correct...I've heard the transfer fees were raised to $50.  As mentioned I've had items transferred through there for $25...so in fact the prices has risen by the statement you made earlier that they are $50.  I've never purchased anything from FCF...only had the stuff transferred.  I have talked with Mike (think that's his name) a number of times about some items.

Just scan one of your forms, black out all private info, and prove you have had the 4 transfers done through FCF( the bomber). Easy enough to prove.
