I'm a fairly new Navy transplant to VA. My CC permit application should be processed shortly (applied first week in June). Quick clarification needed on the rules for CC here. I can't carry at any restaurant that serves alcohol? If so, I guess I'll need to look around for a lot of new places to eat. |

You can't carry concealed at a restaurant or club with an ABC license to serve alcoholic beverages on the premises. You can however carry openly. in fact, many of us attend "open carry" dinners each month. |

As far as I know, the law to change this passed the Va legislature only to be vetoed by our Dem governor.
From what I hear, both candidates in Nov support CC in places that serve alcohol, so this law should change next year. Just about every place I take my family serves alcohol... so I would very much like to see this changed. VCDL is a great site for Virginia gun laws and the push to have them changed in our favor. http://www.vcdl.org |
