| So anyone know about this place and not feel like sharing until I happened upon it. Looks promising for us country folks. http://www.range82.com/Index.html |

The hours are not good.
Sat pistol from noon to 3 and rifle from 3 to 6 No sunday. Open till 1/2 hour before dark on weekdays. Unless you are retired that is no good. If it got off work and went straight there it would give about 2 hours. Shame too cause it's only like 20 minutes from me. |
| Went there today to join (they have weekly member orientations on wednesdays every week.) The place looks very promising, they told me that they would love to expand it as the grow but right now its just a 16 lane up to 100 yard range. They mainly handle gov't contracts and sig sauer academy classes during the day which is the reason why its only open to members for a certain time each day during the week, and their weekend hours are short because the county wouldnt let them run on sundays or shoot past 6pm on saturdays. Also they explained to me that their insurance is with the NRA so they require all shooters on the range be NRA members as well. For more info check out their site www.range82.com or maybe i can help answer any questions you may have, by how he was explaining what he would want the facility to be, itd be a dream for us black rifle guys. |

Any provision for shooting on the move, such as for USPSA / 3-gun practice? |
| a guy that was there with me yesterday asked about shooting on the move and the instructor said he wouldnt mind if you were the only one on the range at the time and you did it in a safe manner. as far as a background check its still required unless you have a concealed permit or are either retired/active military or sworn LEO. i dont really mind that all too much since hes really just trying to make sure you're a good guy shooting on the range, and most people do have CCW's but if you're not looking to get a CCW then obtaining a report from VSP isnt that difficult, whether or not you have something on your record that they would deem as an unsafe act would be another story |

Any provision for shooting on the move, such as for USPSA / 3-gun practice? like i said before if you're the only shooter on the range the instructor/RO i spoke to said he wouldnt mind if you shot on the move as long as you are doing it safely. now they do have sig sauer academy classes, and they offer a 3 gun course that goes over 2 days which sounds pretty cool, i might have to check that out when i purchase a defensive shotgun. |

Thanks for the info... I think I will have to pursue this a bit more. I like the idea of a two day course on 3-gun. |

Class looked interesting, and the $395 fee for two days is in line with market price, but it was the finding the ammo and ammo market price that caught my eye:
equipment: • Reliable, mechanically sound shotgun equipped with a sling (pump or semi-auto) • Handgun (revolver or pistol) in .380ACP, 9mm, .38 special, .357, .357SIG, .40S&W, or .45ACP and 3 extra magazines/ speedloaders • Rifle or carbine (equipped w/ a sling) in .223/5.56mm, .308WIN/7.62 NATO, or 7.62x39 with 3 extra magazines • 50 rounds of 00 buckshot • 50 rounds of rifled slugs • 50 rounds of birdshot (Number 6) • 500 rounds handgun ammunition • 300 rounds rifle ammunition Quoted:

The hours of operation are the real killer, unless you work close by or do shift work, many won't be able to get much range time there. The classes sound good though. |
