About 9 months ago I moved out of my parents place to my own apartment about 10 miles away (in the same county). All of my legal addresses still show my parents address, (tax, drivers license, insurance, chp, credit cards etc). I go there at least once a week and pick up any mail I have. Should I move everything over or does it really matter? (I'd just rather not change it all the time if I don't have to). Thanks.

The legal answer: DMV requires notification w/in 30 days of a move.

The other answer:  If you really want to keep letting your parents see all your mail, then don't worry about it.

You really only have to make the change with the DMV.  That is all I ever did.  But if you are going to school you don't have to change anything if you don't want to as you are "at school."
