Mods, please keep this thread open and in the WVAHTF - I think it would be very helpful here as opposed to a place like the EE. This thread got me thinking - why don't we have an exclusive (W)VAHTF "trading post" thread? There's a lot of us here who have spare parts or other items which they don't really need and would happily give away either as a trade or as a gift if we knew that one of us needed it - especially if it was a FTF trade, so no money is spent on shipping. So here's what I'm thinking we need, and what I'm hoping this thread becomes: 1) List any spare parts, items, accessories, etc. that you have and would either be willing to part with, or willing to trade for something. NO SELLING - KEEP THAT IN THE EE 2) Items are only for trade FTF - this is in an effort to keep it between (W)VAHTF members only. That being said, post your general location in the state!! However, if shipping is absolutely necessary (like a trade between someone in Norfolk and Martinsburg) then it's between the two parties to come to terms via PM or email - refrain from negotiation within the thread. 3) It's only fair, if you post stuff that you're looking for, that you post things you're willing to give away or trade. Gobbling up freebies and contributing nothing is really in bad form. 4) It's also only fair to give each other positive feedback in the EE Feedback Forum. 5) "Flipping" items - meaning receiving them for free from the generosity of others, and then turning around and selling them right away - is bad form, and karma will surely find its way back to you over it. So I'll go first: Free to a good home: - Pistol grip for a Remington 870 - Green no-tilt followers For trade: - AR 30rd aluminum body mags - AK-74 (5.45x39) 30rd steel mags - AK-47 (7.62x39) 30rd ProMag polymer mags* - Beretta 92FS/M9 15rd 9mm mag * - I've had no success with these things, and had to dremel the walls of one of them to make it fit my mag-well. I'm not sure if it's because they're bad design, or if it's because I have an el-cheapo converted WASR-10. The ones for trade are untouched. What I'm looking for: - Bolt-carrier group - 20" Rifle-length AR barrel - Rifle-length AR handguards - Rifle-length gas tube - A2 flash hider - Lower parts kits - AR Buttstocks (A2 or collapsible) Again, all these are for FTF in the NoVA area (Eastern Loudoun/Western Fairfax preferred) So what do you have? _MaH |
