I fondly remember some of the real MILSURP shops from back in the day. They all smelled like moldy canvas and stuff was pilled all over the dam place. Geez, we thought that magic woud never end.

Closest things to that back-in-the-day kind of surplus store I've seen in recent times were both down in Hampton Roads - G I Joes on US 17 at Tabb, and another place down on Granby Street in Norfolk - both with OD green everything stacked, packed and piled in every nook and cranny, and unless all the doors and windows were open, the smell of moldy treated canvas filled the air.  Good stuff!

Yeah there was one in Annandale until I don't know when.  I remember going in there as a kid with my dad looking for random stuff.  But it is starting to look like they are going to knock down the building it was in because the other shop that was there has closed too.

Ranger Surplus has several locations, one off little river turnpike near the ice arena and another in Tysons on rte 7 just west of 123 near the Good Year tire place.

There's a decent shop on rte 1 outside the gate at Quantico.

If you don't mind a drive there's one in Winchester across the street from Franklin County Firearms, which is worth the trip by itself.

There is a tiny one in Portsmouth on High Street (aptly named) that reminds me of the ones I used to go to when I was a kid. They even have 5XL clothing
