I was down there yesterday and saw some work being done. Al Clark(co founder of Blackwater) is starting a new venture(C2 Shooting Solutions) with A&P and offering training classes there. I don't know the details on the pricing, course duration, etc. I believe there will be 1-5 day classes. There may be some range improvments done to assist with the classes and I hope that some of the equipment can be left out, such as steel, etc. The target stations are supposed to be changed so they hang from the baffles, don't know details. As I understand, there will be areas blocked while classes are in session, hopefully they work out a schedule so members aren't left out with minimal places to shoot. At the very least, the range should be looking alot better soon with the possibility of more product for sale. They now have a Surefire display and the prices are really good, for instance a G2 is 29. Mark |

Sounds very promising. Made it out there today... gorgeous. Got a chance to dial in my AR .22lr conversion (wife was nice enough to come along and spot) and later I burned a few mag dumps on the 50 yd plates with it. Shortly after I finished, another guy went at the plates with what looked like a FAL (from where I was at). He got off three ringing shots on it before his buddy ran over and pointed out the sign hanging over his head stating pistol caliber only. He spun around and pointed at me hollering, 'Well he just did it with an AR-15!'... ![]() Did I mention it was gorgeous? |
You see, that idiot with the FAL, that's why they may not continue with the steel. I'm glad you had a good time with the wife, it's nice getting them out there and interested. Mark |
Do a Mapquest search from your address to the one below. It's technically in the southern part of Virginia Beach, but its actually almost on the NC line. Pungo Range 6025 Marvin Road Virginia Beach, Virginia 23457 Phone#426-9953 or 427-2627 |
When you see Monk's your close, if you cross into NC, turn around.....
