I have an unthreaded upper on the way off the EE. Where is a good place in NoVa to have the barrel threaded and a brake installed? I would prefer somewhere I can take it and get same day service. shooter |
I took my bushy barrel to Northern VA Gunworks, Sandy Garrett, in Springfield. I doubt you will get it done in one day from him. If you go there ask him how long it will take. And set a deadline before you leave. He did an awesome job on mine. It was done in about a week. If he says more than a week I would go somewhere else. It was threaded and a phantom put on. or Maybe somebody over at Gilberts or Virginia Arms can help ya out. A buddy of mine said Gander mountain threads barrels but it was so expensive he passed on that place. |

I sent off some stuff to AR15 Barrels.com and was real happy with the job he did. Even with mailing the barrel to him and it back to me, it only took about a week and a couple days. He was great with communications and super friendly. www.ar15barrels.com/ He is a site sponser if that means anything to you? |
Mike threaded my two post-ban uppers back after the sunset. He also made my 9mm SBR barrel so three of my AR's Mike has threaded. Did a great job on all of them. TSC Machine |
I second ar15barrels.com. Randall did a great job fixing the screw up that a company in central VA did on my Noveske barrel. |

Larry at Gilbert's has done many of them. As I recall he charges $65 including a new birdcage flash hider. However there is no chance of getting it done same day. The week before hunting season starts is a bad time to be looking for quick work from a general gunsmith. I have had barrel work done by Larry, AR15Barrels.com and ADCO. I can recomend all without hesitation. Tim Gilbert Small Arms Range |
VA Arms now use Randall Rausch at www.ar15barrels.com exclusively after some horrible work from TTi. Randalls work is excellent and turn-around-time is VERY quick with very reasonable prices. Here's one of Robbs SBRs. Randall cut it down from 14.5" to 10.3" and opened the gas port so it'll work suppressed and unsuppressed. Robb did have to cut the bayonet lug off because the M4-2000. Randall had this barrel back in a week and a half. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
