| Went for a drive this evening and needed to stop for gas on the way home and I was hungry too so I figured I'd stop by the Wawa in Gainesville. Regular unleaded was going for $1.979 and the place was a madhouse. |
I'm always too scared to look. I just been pumping and paying whatever my local guy who owns the gas station that no Americans wanted tells me to pay him! |
Lower GAS prices may be enjoyed until November 7th. This is your "I can be bought cheaply" sheep ly discount. Real world prices will return November 8th. Now please put another $500 on your VISA card. Your f |
Puh-LEASE tell me you don't think the American government is forcing international oil traders to lower prices to get elected/re-elected. |
yeh seriously... i cant be bought with 2 dollar gas. 1 dollar gas, now thats a different beast entirely. |
Exactly! Don't believe for a second the US government has that much influence and power, if WE did, all the worlds problems would have been solved long ago. By the way, the line for the free cheese forms to the left.

I swooped in and grabbed some of that when it was $1.97. I.J. Hudson from NBC4 was there doing a story. I didn't catch it if it has aired by now, but I can't think of why else he would be there with a camera crew. Anyway, here's an UPDATE The Wawa in Gainesville which was running at $1.97 is now at $2.07 as of this morning, Wednesday September 20th. I don't know if the news had anything to do with the boost, but it's up a dime a gallon now. Swoop in while it's still good! _MaH |
Steve-hsa, Don't "grrrr" me bud. It was NOT a serious comment just a "hmm I wonder" kind of thing as I find the timing to be curious. But I will take the free cheese, its Velveeta and its great on Nachos!! Nevis |
Huh? If you took that personally and I hurt your feelings I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was responding to you directly. Besides, isn't this a "grr" ????Peace, Steve. Oh, and gas was $2.069 on the Southside or Richmond this morning. |
Excellent post! Even at $3.00 a gallon, really drives home the real issue here in the US, 12 mpg SUV's. Disclaimer: I love to drive my fossil fuel drinking, hydrocarbon belching SUV and admit I'm part of the problem. |
Not a problem if you can afford the gas. Just got back from driving around Italy. Cost me as much to fill a Fiat Panda econo box there as to fill my SUV with 3.00 per gallon gas. Also cost about $30 in tolls (one-way) to drive from Tuscany to Milan on the autostrada.

It was $2.34 in Martinsburg last night......
