Anyone know how many write ins we got PVC?

didja see shotgun news this month (of the two i got in one mailing?  guess they're makin up for expected lack fo christmas time issue) - I EVENTUALLY get to the articles when I'm through with the ads and I was reading the Knox report in the front... he talks bout PVC and Kilgore.

great line after he quoted the kilgore spokesman denigrating PVC.  "That's like telling a redskins fan Joe Gibbs doesn't know football."  I almost fell off my toilet I was laughing so hard.

Yeah, I saw the piece in SGN.  I knew it would get a mention here sooner or later.    Good summary on how Kilgore screwed himself by dismissing the VCDL as unimportant.

Anyone got a link to it online?  I'd love to read it.

Apparently McDonnell knows that the VCDL endorsement put him over the top.  He's already taking steps to change things for the better for gun owners.

I believe most here on ARF voted for Deeds... I remember reading everyones post after voting and the majority were for Deeds.  Only a few voted for McDonnell, myself included.

I voted for McDonnell, primarily due to the VCDL endorsement.

I didn't understand why a lot of people here voted for Deeds. Everyone got upset that Kilgore didn't return the VCDL survey (and made stupid comments, etc) and wrote in PVC. I don't have a problem with that. But then you go and vote AGAINST the AG candidate that VCDL endorses. That doesn't make sense to me.....

IIRC the NRA endorsed Deeds, and I'll be the first to admit that McDonnell's record wasn't the greatest.  I got in his face (literally and politely) a few times with him about it.  VCDL originally didn't endorse either candidate, but after notifying VCDL that one of the survey responses was incorrect and should be changed from the pro- to the anti- position, VCDL endorsed McDonnell.

Fortunately the recount will be done on 12/21, so the results should be certified by Christmas.

The NRA did endorse Deeds due to two issues. The biggest was probably one gun a month. McDonnell voted for that 14 years ago and has since changed his position and has said it should be overturned. The second was the hunting and fishing amendment. It was a do nothing amendment that would have only weakened the VA constitution, IMO. Maybe he should have voted for it, but I still think McDonnell will be better for VA than Deeds.

I voted Mc Donnell...

Back to the original question of this thread, how many votes did PVC get?  I'm curious about the fact that there seemed to be more write-in votes in the Lt. Gov race than there was in the Gov's race by quite a bit.  I'm wondering if a large number of folks placed the write-in in the wrong race by accident.

Didn't HardRock (Mike) say he had head info about the NRA being involved in trying to discredit the VCDL in this race? Anything else on that?
