I called Fairfax County and got the following information:  You can keep your old permit, with old address, or get a new duplicate permit with current address.  There is a one-page form one has to fill out, along with a $10 dollar fee.  The process apparently takes only a week or so.

The Fairfax County court phone number is:  703-246-4256.

Save your money.  I contacted the State Police a few years ago about this.  They (Lt Kimmler?) said since there is no provision in the law regarding the address change, there is no need to change the address.  The permit must be carried with photo ID anyway.  That's usually a driver's license, which has to be kept up to date anyway (with their cheesy paper card).

Have fun!

+1, just went through this last week.  Confirmed by email with the VSP.

The only issue with not changing your address on your CCH is that you cannot use it as a second form of ID to buy a gun.

You are absolutely right.  However, I always carry my voter registration card also, so that is never a problem.  I think that even gets me around the rediculous "assault firearm" purchase hoop that Virginia oddly has.
