Every Monday night Dominion has a Defensive Handgun match based on IDPA principles.

Dominion's website: mnd.kicks-ass.net/

Last night it was a no-light blackout scenario, where you had better have had a personal light of some kind or you didn't see the targets.  There were no-shoot targets mixed in with the bad guys too.

Made for a really cool match and it really teaches you to watch your targets.

Sure-Fire personal lights ruled the match.

Here are the scores from last night.  I came in #6, which I don't think is particuarly bad considering this was my first no-light scenario.  If the break down in is hard to read, click on the link above and then the results have an icon on the left part of the screen.

I'll be there next week...sorry I missed this one.

How much is that Surefire Executive?  I have the Defender, but I want something thinner.

I'll have to check on that tomorrow.  We sold out of the Executives as soon as we got them in.  I want to say that they are around $90.00 but I'm not positive.

Email me tonight or call me at the shop tomorrow so I won't forget, ok??

Howdy,

Wow, a match I could actually go to.  Is it "real" IDPA, that is, does one need to be a current IDPA member?

It says on the website that standard range and ammo fees apply.

How much does it cost?

Do you have to buy their ammo, and if so, are the prices reasonable?

Thanks,

It's not a "real" IDPA match, so you don't have to be a member.

The range fee is $8.00 or $5.00 for LEO/Security.

You must buy their ammo.  I think 9mm is around 12.99 (maybe).  I never really pay attention since I don't have much of a choice anyway.  You usually only need one box for the night.

Come out...it's a lot of fun.

Last night was pretty fun, but I screwed up.

There was an "air marshall" scenario that was pretty cool.

I finally made it out last night as well. I had a good time even though I feel I could of done better. One bad cartridge and a technical violation cost a little bit. Oh well, there is always next time. Now I just have to figure out how to get back out there sooner then later.

Here are the results from yesterday.  I couldn't make it out, but one ofthese days soon, probably the day after the VA. State Championship IDPA match at Rivanna (June 21 and 22), I'll be out at Dominion again.

Again, if you can't make heads or tales of the scores, check out http://mnd.kicks-ass.net/
